I think a couple ramped bunk extensions will get me there with few modifications. I only need a few inches.

I like the roller idea. It's super uncommon on these small boats. One reason I heard was that folks like the stickiness of the bunks for solo launches and retrieves... i thought the opposite. Glad its not just me.

Thanks for the ideas guys.

Croaker:  Funny, but when you first posted a pic of that thing, I thought it silly.  Now that I see it installed, I've changed my mind. :jester:  Not just useful, but "cool".

Those Scanstrut cable glands are nice.  I'm particularly fond of the stainless.

We don't happen to have these charges in N.H. but if I lived in Ca, I might not object to paying such minimal amounts on my personal property, that is, as long as I could be certain the funds were earmarked for such worthwhile uses as infrastructure maintenance and improvements, and not to support tax breaks for wealthy individuals and corporations, such as we've seen in the past.
That said, I guess we have to simply assume this money goes into the general fund and gets distributed for many different purposes. With that in mind, I'm not so sure if "singling-out", and specifically tying our boat tax to the illegal immigration problem, or some other personal, wasteful spending pet peeve is really prudent. In fact, it may prove to be the kind of hyperbole that only further serves to divide us.
Simply put, supporting a State the size of California is expensive.....VERY expensive. That money has to come from somewhere. In the final analysis, I suppose all we can do is be sure the taxes (about which we speak), are not only spent wisely, but "levied" fairly.  One last thing to keep in mind is this:  You're going to pay; one way or another. For example:  Despite not having such taxes here in N.H., our real estate property taxes are some of the highest in the Country.  Oh, we in N.H. can "brag" about being a "no sales tax State", but the money has to come from "somewhere". Unfortunately, there's just no free lunch folks. My 2

How else are you Californians gonna pay for all those illegal immigrants?

Photos of it extended and retracted.  Lock bolt is right above the red jack stand.  Size of the box iron is relative to size of boat.

Amazing how many people got too deep into my ad. I definitely can afford the good stuff but was simply asking what else I could use. That's it! I do appreciate the actual helpful ones. Just a FYI I was able to get the seastar brand.

Ran to area 12 today from edmonds.  Much better weather and shrimping.  4/4 limits in about 5 pulls.  Last two pots after limiting had a few only about 10 shrimp despite being similar depths as others.  Not sure why.

Back at it in the rain tomorrow.

My dad used to have the exact same model of Lund as I have now.  His had a bunk trailer that sat pretty high.  I took it out one time and had to launch in very shallow water (Larabee State park, for those familiar with my area).  It was a real pain to launch.  I pretty much had to drag the boat off the back of the trailer.  Since the tide happened to be going out, it was even more "fun" retrieving.

When I got my Lund (and having had experience with one), it had the same trailer as my dad's.  My old generic 12' tin can that it was replacing sat on an old Caulkins trailer with rollers.  I immediately did a swap.  I sold that bunk trailer with the old tin can and kept the old Caulkins for my Lund.  I still have both of them.

I can launch in very shallow water.  The trailer sits low enough, and with the rollers, that I can get the boat off just by giving it a good shove from the bow.

Retrieving is also very easy.  I don't need much water.  I can just use the winch to crank the boat right up onto the trailer.

For a pic of the boat and trailer, see this recent thread:  https://www.arimaowners.com/index.php?topic=25192.0

Yes. The boat is set up with both NMEA and the Suzuki SMG4 guage. Both will show fuel used. I will have to get into the habit of zeroing it before I launch...and looking at my Marks-A-Lot markings on my tank to see how much I start with.

So, I have decided not to open a can-of-worms by changing out the fuel sender.

Put a little sticker on the cover that says "zero out".

My Merc MFD gauge also tracks total fuel used.  I can reset that (to zero).  I don't reset it each trip.  I reset it at each fill-up.  This way, I always know how much of the tank I've used.  I seems to be quite accurate.

Pretty sure my Simrad will also do that.

Just finished installing a Scanstrut multi-cable deck gland for the cables through my dash to the Simrad.

They don't give these things away....$60.00 on Amazon
