Are you planning on fishing hard for Halibut and/or Lings this season?  Would you be interested in participating in field testing an exciting new lure and providing your valuable feedback to the developer?

We are looking for a few guys to field test our new line of lure to help in the final development.  We will provide the lure(s) at NO COST and only ask that you fish it and provide feedback.

This invitation is open to all areas of the United States.

If you would like to participate in helping out a small local tackle maker and plan on fishing halibut and/or ling cod please respond by PM and we can arrange getting you all set up.

Hey Greg.
It's a very small operation, still in the garage phase.

If you'd like to help with a field test, just PM me and I can provide all the details.

We tank tested these and the action is absolutely fantastic. The arms undulate and the body tracks just like a live octopus. As it settles, the arms flair.
Looks delicious!

Agree.  But hopefully we can get some great pictures and video of our lure sticking out of the mouth of a monster!

Those look like they will be very effective!  Let us know when they hit the market, I'm always up for decorating the bottom with fancy new gear!  :jester:

Thank you for the confidence boost.  Pretty sure I would get booted for selling these on the board. But the interest has been both positive and inspiring.  :beerchug:

Nothing to get booted for.  You haven't sold any here on the forum....yet.   :jester:

Of course, I wouldn't see anyone having a problem with you selling them in the "for sale" section.  We have other members who sell their own products here (Pilot houses, downrigger posts/mounts, and kicker brackets all come to mind).

If they turn out to be a success, I'd be a likely customer.  The only reason that I didn't reply to the "trial/testing" offer is that I'm not certain of how much I'll go out after Lings this year (although hoping for a lot).  I didn't feel right about accepting an offer to "trial" these and then end up not going out much.

Late to the party and I know you  said you're all set... but if you want then tested in a larger range if water I will be fishing around Vancouver Island this year, and have an intention set to spend more time chasing Ling than I did last year.  Would gladly buy a couple to run and report back results.  Will be fishing out of Nanaimo (home port) as well as 3 of the WCVI sounds - Barkely, Nootka, Esperanza.

I didn't reply because I thought it would be September before I moved to the S Oregon coast; now we'll make a first move mid May. Happy to be on a back up list if you want some Brookings data points!

Thanks Dave.
Definitely on the list.
We will have another testing session once we move into the next phase.

🤫. Spoiler alert:  there are some fantastic spoons, salt jigs, spinners and fresh water jigs on the way.

If you're looking for trout or Kokanee testing, let me know.  I've pretty much got my "tried and trusted" spoon for trout.  But, with two-pole endorsement in hand, I'm usually willing to try out other stuff on a second rod.

Some of the guys here are strictly saltwater folks.  I'll hit anywhere in my area where I can run my Arima and (like tomorrow), my Lund tinnie.

You gonna get your own heads made?

All sorts of opportunities with that cavity...

...and a better transition between head and body would catch more fisherman.

We're looking at it all. The "skirts" can be used on jigs also.

I like that.  :beerchug:

Aminos? Rattles? Lights? All of the above. All catch fisherman... And fish too...

I thought I'd make gear too at some point. I think every avid fisherman does.

When I get more time...maybe. but rather just fish. :)

Hey Sarge....  The two lures arrived today and if things go as planned I may even be getting out tomorrow and will give these a dip.

Couple of things I really like are:

1)  The nylon flat washer to keep the lure body up tight to the lead head.

2)  The split ring for varying hook options.....and MAYBE even to add a mini light!!

3)  The skirt colors and the artwork and eyes on the lead heads look tasty!!  My pic doesn't do them justice

Thanks again and we'll let you'll know how it goes.  Keep in mind that we have a slot limit here in the Sound.  Min 26in and max 36in...and believe me we've had some interesting conversations about this with the WDFW folks once we get into spearfishing season.  It just make it harder to ask those lings to hold still so we can measure-em before shooting them in the head.

Thanks Hunter for the first impression feedback.  We're excited to hear how they fish in real world applications.  Remember, these are all glow as well.  Best charged under a black light.  From testing, they glow for quite awhile.
