Fresh water Flush

Has anyone used the fresh water tank in the cuddy?
1) can the 3/8 water hose be replaced with a 1/2 or 3/4 hose?
2) what sized pump?
What kind of hose?

Do you intend to use the water in the cuddy tank to flush the outboard or as a means of rinsing the boat like a washdown?

IIRC the bow tank is only 14 gallons or so, at least in my SR19. The small hose is not accessible as it travels between the hull layers and is surrounded with foam.  Others have posted various solutions for replacing the hose, pump, etc.  Someone else recently posted about using this tank as a flushing source.  In my opinion you would want more water volume if you're talking about using it for flushing the engine(s). 

I think the original idea for the fresh water tank was just to add a little ballast up front while providing a convenient way to wash your hands or gear while fishing, I'll say it works really nicely for that purpose!

I did. Here are some photos. I use it to wash down my fishing gear and deck. The pump would have plenty of power to push water through the wash down hose port on your motor. If you are trying to actually run the motor and pass water through the lower unit via water pump, I'm not sure. Could work. You would run out of water quickly but it would be enough to get the salt out.  I keep thinking about trying it one day and I just use my garden hose when I get back to the house.

This is a "borrowed" idea/design from another Arima Owner.  Forgot where it originated...

  If you want to do a straight RnR of the factory pump, the OEM Jabsco pump is long discontinued.   The post referenced below has an Import replacement, quality unknown, but will thread directly into the drain spigot on the factory tank, same as original.   Salmonchaser's setup above will almost certainly have more pressure,  but the output will always be limited by the size of the tank outlet.   You can, however, run a larger hose aft by routing it down through the liner and back through the 'bilge' area, under the deck storage bins.   You MIGHT be able to fish it up beside the fuel tank without removing the tank - I've pulled some wires up there, but not a hose.   My '96 SR factory tank is just shy of 12 gallons, but it's not in the boat - adding 100# of weight forward in already heavy boats to try to improve the ride isn't something I want. 

  In any case, if you're re-using the switch in the factory location in the motor well - right next to the fuel tank vent :doh:  - I would change it out for a sealed, spark-proof switch, or move it elsewhere.
