BTW, just in case some might have been wondering why that Rule 1500 wouldn't work?  :jester:  It can't sit in the center and leaves very little room for my transducer.
As far as the bilge drain fixture is concerned, I can see why Bryce decided to leave the length of that stub up to me.  We live.....we learn.  To borrow a phrase:  Do ya hear me, you "young whippersnappers"? Haha  Take a look:

Short cables finally came in from New Wire Marine.  Looks like they should do the trick.

I think the Rule 900 Lo-Pro might work better.  There are several different ways you can 'aim' the outlet, and if you don't use the crappy 'check valve' the whole thing is pretty well designed.  If you have the space, using the 1 1/8" discharge and through-hull has WAY more output.

Hi David:  Thanks for that.  Interestingly, I looked at that pump, before ordering the Rule 1500.  The problem with it is, being somewhat "elongated", I didn't think it would allow enough space for placing the transducer.  Now that I have the boat, I see this to be the case.
At this point, looks like the Rule 1100 might be the most reasonable alternative. Luckily, Defender Marine agreed to take the 1500 and Attwood 1 1/8" fitting back and will issue a credit.  I've got another order going in to them tomorrow.
Looking at the shots of the size of this bilge area should give you a sense of what I'm talking about.  I suppose the 'upside' is that it will be both easy to access, and easy to clean. Ha   And yeah, I've yet to cut that drain tube to length and seal it.  Just waiting for the square socket to be able to remove it.

BTW, made a little headway over the past couple days.  Got the forward cleat and bow light mounted.  Also installed the motorwell drain. I titled the last pic:  The "enemy", the "weapon" and the "courage".   :jester: I had success; just haven't loaded that pic yet.  Gonna try to get to the aft cleats today.

Hunter:  Yep!  I always do that. Smaller "drill size" holes are sometimes a problem. I usually use double thick painter's tape prior to drilling.  Usually helps.

Spent the day installing the two aft cleats. Just take a look at these "ABSOLUTELY "GEORGEOUS" Sea Dog 316 SS "Safety Cleats".  No more "wrenching" my hands and wrists on those ("lying in wait") Herreshoff basterds.
Anyway, I don't want to talk about how "perfectly" they are installed   but just let me say:  I spent about 2 hours just trying get the layout accurate enough to make me happy.  Getting the horizontal level with the gunnels didn't seem like much of a problem.  That said, getting the fore-to-aft location to match (from side-to-side) was beginning to involve a geometry problem enough to make even Einstein take to hittin' the Grey Goose.
Long story short; I solved it with carboard.  That's right, I said, "cardboard". The back of a pad of paper; to be precise. Had to go "Fred Flintstone" on this.  Funny, but I don't really think I ever realized how much "Fred" and I have in common.  Look how wrong you can be. Ha  Pics will show what I'm talkin' about.
BTW, it was nice to see how the builders provided some fairly robust glassed-in backing blocks for these cleats.  Just felt it smart to add some 1 1/2" SS fender washers to the equation.
So now, on to the midship cleats. No factory reinforcement provided for those, so I'll have to see about getting something that will suffice.  I'm thinking something like plastic. I see a trip to Walmart in my future.  Ha

Love those cleats, and good idea factory had to put backing.  Don't know how to break it to you but, as far as the getting both sides positioned the same,it's hard to see both sides at once.  But we all do it and I've done it many times. That's until wife says,"you can only see once side at a time so what's the big deal!"  She's right but still would bother me.

Not sure if I've kept up with posting the expenses.  That said, I won't bore you with the details, but I've added a bit of miscellaneous stuff and another substantial order from Defender. I will be getting a credit for returning the pump and hull fixture that didn't fit, but for now, add another $453.49.  New total is:  $24,009.81.
Defender didn't have the pump, or the hose, I want......so it looks like I'm headed "West".
BTW, I found those #2 Robertson bits that fit those fasteners.  $2.77 at Lowe's. Ha

Let me see the pump hose you end up with. I need a new hose and don't want a substandard product.

Hi Mark:  Since it looks like that Trident hose isn't available in a 1" ID, I had to go shopping.  As it stands now, I'm thinking of going with this Shields 162 hose:
https://www.go2marine.com/Shields-162-Series-Reinforced-PVC-Tubing-Clear-w-Red-Tracer?quantity=1&inside-diameter=41

I'm going to do a little more research, but that said (so far as I can see), I think this hose may be the one I go for.

Those may be reinforced but don't seem any less likely to konk at a bend than the good old never(always) kink garden hoses...  :shrug9:

headduck:  In my defense, I'd like to be able to 'instantly' prove you wrong.  Unfortunately, having never physically handled this hose, I can't offer any legitimate argument to your suggestion. :shrug9:  As with any other hose, I imagine the degree to which it can avoid being kinked will largely depend on how tight a radius it has to endure.
That aside, as I mentioned to Mark, I'm going to do some additional research on this hose...as well any other alternative I may be able to find.  Luckily, as it turns out, I happen to see this hose listed as being in stock at my local Seabrook, N.H. West Marine store.  Guess where I'm heading this weekend? Ha  I'll keep you posted.

If I recall correctly, this is the 5th weekend in a row it's been raining.  Worked in the basement on permanently connecting the cables and mounting the switch/breaker panel, inside the port seat box.  Also made a 'tracing' of the box, on a piece of plywood, enabling me to exactly locate where the battery will sit inside the box.  Hoping this will make installing both, the seat box and battery tray on the deck, when the time comes.
Additionally, I should be able to now accurately locate and drill to install the 2" rigging tube for the cable exit.  A few pics:

Well......spent most of yesterday getting the midship cleats installed.  Came out great, if I do say so myself. Ha  Took awhile as I had to make up some backers.
Photos will show how I made the backers from a small plastic cutting board I picked up at Walmart. The material was about 3/16" thick and seemed quite rugged.  It was stiff but could be bent with a bit of force.  Just "right", I thought.
Anyway, I cut two 3"x6" pieces out of it, then rounded the ends and drilled for the cleats. Took a bit of filing to finish but came out pretty nice. Used some more of those 1 1/2" stainless fender washers and plenty of LifeSeal. As usual, I spent a fair amount of time locating and drilling.
I had to laugh when taking the last picture.  All I could think of was the caption:  "LOOK MA.........CLEATS I CAN REACH".  :jester:  A few pics.

Thanks guys.  Didn't get much done on "Kiwi" today except for laying out and scribing a pencil line down the center of the deck; fore to aft.  Gonna need this to accurately space the seat boxes. Spent too much time running around today checking out bilge pumps. Given the limited size of the bilge, looks like it's going to be this one:
https://defender.com/en_us/rule-round-non-automatic-bilge-pump?utm_id=143783458262&utm_campaign=19735474067&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid&utm_content=649599978904&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=19735474067&gclid=CjwKCAjwiezABhBZEiwAEbTPGA2YyOB5Nq95q_SomBa4xr4ahhNQGmz_LwguEkvPy4wNhaLgXnmNGhoC9OoQAvD_BwE#493=19515&615=28469&1523=41877

Also, because the discharge line has to come straight up and out, I'll need this as well:
https://defender.com/en_us/rule-hose-barb?utm_id=150171837047&utm_campaign=19735474073&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid&utm_content=649561344444&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=19735474073&gclid=CjwKCAjwiezABhBZEiwAEbTPGHr4s5S6_O7ZX3U9LlYKkrQT0rWC6OmFPBoEvjYfVkbnzUl5YzZorhoCWE4QAvD_BwE#493=5661&615=41890&1523=40348

I also had the opportunity to check out that Shields hose. I like it!  In fact, it appears to be the most likely candidate. I went down to 1" discharge. One of the reasons is, I discovered that 1 1/8" stuff is just too much of a "bear" to deal with...especially given the limited amount of space available back there.

BTW, I looked at the Lo-Pro pump and discovered I couldn't use it. Takes up too much space (front to back) and doesn't allow enough room for the Airmar P-79 shoot-thru-hull transducer I'm planning on installing.  Funny, but I recall asking Bryce to extend that bilge forward by a few inches.  That was last year.  Must have forgotten, somewhere along the way.  Ha  Oh well. I'll make it work.

Edit:  My Defender order was just delivered.  Looks like a busy day tomorrow.
