headduck:  No, I sent them back to Greg's, along with instructions for the correct sizes. And guess what?......I just received the replacements this morning.  You won't believe it; all three are wrong again.  In fact, now, one is even "black"......
I just placed an order with New Wire Marine out of S.C.  All I need are these 3 "short, red" cables;  4", 7" and 14" long. I emailed New Wire Marine, then went to their order format. Even left them a detailed message. So, we'll see.
Do you know what I keep hearing going on in my head right now?  No?

Quote from: AJFishin on April 15, 2025, 05:33:24 PMYou gotta make them yourself. They're easy enough to make and you get the exact length you need. You have or had plenty of time Yat. :stirthepot:

This is my other go to for Marine wire, they have been great with pretty good prices. www.batterycablesusa.com. I hope you don't need to use them and I really do hope this 3rd time is a charm.

I just got a call from Jan at New Wire Marine.  Pretty thorough guy.  He just wanted to verify the cable length dimensions and confirm that I understood they were center to center of poles, as that's how they normally dimension these from their order form. "YES"!  Do we now have good "commu'cation"?  Me sure does hope so.

AJ:  I'm hoping as well. I don't want to go into it right now, but you know the difference between "hope" and "expectation".....right?
If this next order doesn't work out, I think I'm just going to buy two 25 foot rolls of wire.  Why two you ask?..........Simple; one to make the cables, and one to 'hang' myself when my crimps don't come out the way I like.

With the time and effort enlisted so far, you could have bought all the tools and become an expert...

Yep!  You're right, headduck.  Hindsight is, indeed, 20/20.  I've probably cut, stripped and spliced more than my share of smaller wire, over the years, just never invested the money for the correct tools to deal with the larger sizes, that I've been attempting to have made.
I'm a fast learner, but (having so much else to do), I just thought it would be simpler (and perhaps even cheaper) to have these bigger cables premade.  We live and learn, don't we?
All that aside, I can't keep kicking my ass for every little 'stumbling block' that gets in the way of this project. I have to say:  After what I've been through with this shipping and Customs crap; I suppose I should really be viewing this wire issue as one of my "lighter moments".

Yat hope 3rd time is a charm, but if unfortunately it's not, someone has Disposable's wiring tool box floating around, that would be the way to go without having to buy tools. Looks like the last person that had it was stewski346.

AJ and DA:  Thank you for that. Nice to know I'll have alternatives, that is, if this order fails to come through correctly. That said, after getting the follow-up call from Jan at New Wire Marine, I'm a bit more confident that we may have success, this time around.  I mean..........3 simple little cables.  What can go wrong?  Ha  We'll see, I guess.

She's home! First pic is loading, at J.F. Moran's in R.I......(had to keep a hand on my baby). Ha  Second pic shows how we were wishing that trailer would have been about 2" longer.  As you can tell by the next shot, it couldn't go any farther forward. Luckily, it worked as this shows it "ready to roll". Last two are finally at home, safe and sound.
Headed to Hooksett Wednesday to transfer on the trailer. Have to mount my mags as well. I'm gonna give the dealer the galvy wheels and little tires, it came with, for his help with loading and adjustments.

Yes, headduck, she carries only "special cargo".....like boats, Kubota, brush, yard waste, rail fencing, wood and leaves. Oh, I've carried loam and sand, just nothing with "big stones". :jester:
That thing is just too expensive to beat on.  Funny, but I have a friend who asked for some rocks to build a stone wall.  I told him he could come over anytime to pick from one of my piles.  I would even load him up with my Kubota, but he'd just have to bring his own transport.  Ain't heard back. Haha
