Glad you were able to just rotate it!

Don't feel bad,   I made the same mistake once helping a friend install a radar on his sailboat.
It was major PITA to go up on the bosun chair.....so we used the orientation adjustment and left it backwards.
The radar displayed perfectly once we rotated it 180 degrees in the settings.

I read the manual a few times and did not find mention of the antenna (dome) orentation. I searched online as well. So, I alined the embossed arrow on the dome cover with the bow...but nooo...the arrow points to the rear.

I still have no idea where Simrad instructs us to mount the antenna with the "Halo" logo toward the front ?

I also did not find instructions on electronic orentation. I have a suspicion it uses the compass.

Thanks!  :flagwave:

Went out this morning and removed the Pins, rotated the mast 180, and re-pinned.

Planning a wife-cruise in the harbor next weekend so I'll be able to re-test it then.

Although it has served me well on both Arimas, I am also going to replace the old starboard bracket with aluminum. Since I will be driving 70mph on the freeway, I feel the need for a material stronger than the starboard. I'll use the Starboard parts for a template.

Been a long time since I've been to CA.  But, I still have to ask....What CA freeway do you think you're going to be going 70mph on?  The only time I can remember doing anything above 50mph was on I-5, North of LA, and at 3am.

Yes, the I-5 through LA is awful. I go on the 241 tollroad to the 405 to launch in Dana Point. I take the SR-22 to get to the launch ramps near Long Beach. I go late and come back early to avoid work hour traffic.

So, I am thinking about re-making the ugly old mast support bracket. I ordered some 3/8" aluminum plate for the actual part and I have some 1-1/2" aluminum angle to replace the Starboard cleats.

I am planning to use 5/16" or 1/4" stainless bolts.

Now I want to minimize the bi-metal corrosion.

Fiber washers? Grease? Paint? Will gelcoat or f/g resin stick to aluminum? Hmmm. 🤔

Maybe? But, I usually overkill. Found some fiberglass angle scrap in my garage from a previous project (like Martin3 posted). When I get done I will not have any concerns about the mast support failing.

When you don't have any help and can't reach both sides of the bolt...

Oh yeah, overkill is good. That fiberglass angle is definitely way stronger. I'm using the same for my bait tank install and to reinforce my fish box lid after I cut it to put a deck hatch.

Thought you wanted to re-do it because it wasn't pretty.

I bought some fibre washers at ACE.

Tef-gel is used fairly hard by the aluminum boat manufactures.  A friend has a new tin can.  He said his hinges, screws, bolts et cetera that aren't aluminum all have a bit of goo (Tef-Gel) squeezed out.  It's good stuff.

I have a couple tubes of "Magic Lube". It is PTFE (Teflon). I wonder if it is similar to the Tef-Gel?

I'm glad you clarified the PTFE.  When I saw someone with a name of Croaker Stroker talking about "Magic Lube", my mind started to go in a completely different direction.   :jester:

Received the 12"x12"x 3/8" aluminum from Amazon. Got it cut and mounted today. Not real pretty, but it looks super strong compared to the Starboard bracket.
