Selling My: 1996 Sea Chaser 16

The time has come for me to sell my well taken care of 1996 Arima Sea Chaser 16 with a pretty much brand new, very low hour, 98 hours to be exact, Suzuki motor DF60AV.

I'm the second owner of the boat that I bought 8 years ago from the previous owner locally and I have owned it ever since. I have put a lot of attention into this boat and I got it completely dialed in to be an awesome fishing boat that can handle almost any condition it's in and can fish almost anywhere; turn key ready, put it in the water and go!

Reason I'm selling is that I got a bigger boat, which some might have seen, that fits my family's needs better, so unfortunately I'm having to sell my SC16. If I could keep both boats I would, because I can still see myself fishing from this boat occasionally, it's such an easy boat to tow, launch, and fish from.

Whomever gets this boat will have worry free boating and fishing for years to come !


The List :

    2019 Suzuki 60 HP motor (DF60AV) which has the larger gear case and comes with a 4 blade prop that has been professionally detuned at Wilmington Propeller to give the motor and boat the power and torque throughout all ranges. It cruises at 25 MPH and it has maxed out at 29.8 MPH @ 5800 RPM. I have religiously flushed the motor with Salt Away after every outing.

    Full NMEA2000 network to chartplotter.

    27 gallon fuel tank

    Lenco Electric trim tabs, (9x12) with auto retract and position switch.

    Completely rewired with all marine tinned wire from Greg's Marine Wire

    New Blue Seas 3 position battery switch

    Blue Seas inline fuse block for a 2nd battery.

    Blue Seas fuse panel with each wire individually labeled.

    4 gang rocker switch panel with 2- 3 position rocker switches and 2- 2 position rocker switches, all with circuit breakers.

    Garmin echoMap Plus 74CV

    Brand new Standard Horizon GX2200 VHF radio with added AIS receiver.

    New 4 foot Shakespeare antenna

    1 storage companion seat with reupholster back seat cushion

    2 Tempress high back seats

    6 rod holder arch with 2 LED lights

Worth every penny AJ.  That's just what I got for mine.  While yes, mine looked like it just left the factory, it had nowhere near the additional equipment and upgrades such as yours.  Just crazy that you can't even order a new 16.  It's such a great boat, I'll never understand it.

Yat appreciate the comments and I 100% totally understand what you went through when you sold your SC16 cream puff. It is not an easy thing to do and there have been many times today I wanted to delete this listing.
The Arima SC16 and the Arima 16's in general are very unique boats that can keep up with the bigger boats no problem.

Nice package there and obviously upgraded far better than factory new. 16 Chaser was my first Arima and that boat caught more fish than maybe all my others combined.

My 16 is my "Goldilocks" boat.  Perfect size and capability for everything I want to do.  Someone is going to get a real gem with your boat.  If I hadn't done all the upgrades to mine, I'd jump on this.

   AJ:  So sorry to have to see you drop the price on this boat.  I don't quite know what to say, except, whoever gets this boat at this price should be wearing a nylon stocking over his head.  Definitely a steal at that price.  I don't know if there's a way you could wait for spring before selling, but if so, I think you'd do a helluvalot better.   
   And BTW, to anybody shopping for a 16, I have only one thing to say:  Try to buy a new one!  You might be surprised at how "defiant" the manufacturer is to even consider building it.

Thank you everyone for the kind words, but unfortunately the buyer has gone MIA for some reason after Saturday and after a few attempts to get ahold of him, I guess he's ok leaving everything on the table, so I'm putting the boat back on the market.
I do have a few other potential buyers that called me over the weekend and are interested and I've since gave them the update and 2 are looking to take a look at it this week. I'm not in any rush to sell, like Yat said Spring might have better buyers, so if it sits till then, so be it, it's not in my way.

My SC16 now has a new home in the Bay Area. The owner and his buddy picked it up this morning, both were great people to meet, and are now on their way back up north.  Couldn't ask for a better person to take the SC16, sounds like him, his family, and friends will have some good times with the boat.
Hope he joins the AO family soon!
