I'm building a web site

90 percent of the fish we eat is imported.

Most of us know "wild caught" is better than "farmed", but there is so much more.

I made this video to educate my customers on what's going on in the fish market world.

Nice video.

Many years ago, I saw salmon on sale at Costco.  It seemed pretty cheap.  It was labeled as Atlantic Salmon/Farmed.  I'd never had Atlantic/Farmed salmon before so I didn't think there would be much of a difference.  After all, salmon is salmon, right??

When I cooked it, all I could taste was what I put on it.  The fish, itself, had zero flavor at all.

That was the first, and last, time that I've bought farmed fish.

The second closest thing (if you can call it that) is when I go trout fishing in the local lakes on/after opening day.  Those fish just came out of a hatchery days before.  They are still fun to catch though.  But, no worry.  They are nasty eating and I don't even bother cleaning them.  They are much better when dropped into a crab pot (as bait) and turned into Dungies.

Walt..... I think that your main attraction as a commercial fisherman is that you are able to emphasize, describe and augment the quality of "care" and handling of the fish that you market.  That's what sets you apart from all others.  I would make it a big part of your marketing to let folks know exactly how your fish is handled from hook to table.

When folks see bargain roadside salmon for sale..... they would 100% pass if they knew that this is what they are buying.

I know nothing about you tube or other such stuff.

The kid helping me with my hats also set up my you tube and says he's going to make me famous.

He plans on posting several videos in the future on how we catch fish and take care of them
