I can't seem to get the AIS portion on the site to show any ship traffic.  I'll have to play with it more.

Here's the site I use to look at AIS traffic.  I actually use it to look at fishing vessel movement out of Dutch Harbor to get an idea of direction of departure for some of the fleet in the sector I work with....I think you call it spying...lol.  You can click on the vessel icons and then it will show you ship type, destination etc.

You can see the vessel I run (for my job) (Seafreeze Alaska) at the end of Pier 91 in Seattle.  We are delayed due to work on one of our main engines....arrrrrrgh!  Should be up there right now.

There's a button that says "start streaming".  You can also overlay a nav. chart.

Yours is much better for me.  My computer runs too slow for the other one. I'm going to save and refer to yours.  I wonder if they have apps like this for the iphone? I'm always nervous while bobbing around out there (we fish in the shipping lane)

You might look at these guys for an iPhone app.

Or just go to the itunes app store and search for "Ship Finder".

Up here in Washington AT&T is useless when off the Northern coast or the Straits when by Sekiu.  I finally gave up on an iPhone and went back to Verizon.  Now with Verizon getting the iPhone hmmmm........except I got a Droid X just before they announced they were going to carry the iPhone.
