Sea Ranger 21 with 90hp

Was poking around the Arima website from 2000 and it says: This new model (SR21) runs and handles perfectly with only 90 h.p.   :jester:

Interesting stuff.

Arima called the sponsons "after planes" or pods.

I also like the ad that says the Sea Hunter is easily towed with a small car, and shows a VW bug towing it in the photo. Imagine that on a slippery ramp.

The super beetle like in that picture would have little issues pulling that boat. But if a SNAFU happened on a slick steep ramp and the bug rolled back into the water, at least it would float too, easy recovery. :jester:

And we still find trim tabs atop be a necessary item.  :shrug9:

I think tabs are a necessity on the smaller boats where I felt the difference between my 16 that had them and my 17 that didn’t, but I wish it did.
Just from my couple outings on my 19, and I assume the bigger boats, I don’t think they’re to much of a necessity, but nice to have just in case.

Trim tabs are absolutely mandatory on my 19. The ride is worse than a Whaler Montauk without them. Mine failed a while back and it was the worst two trips I’ve been on ride quality wise. The design of fuel tank location was a mistake imo. If you were running on less than half a tank of gas maybe the ride would be better but trim tabs make it a usable boat in the conditions we have in the Bay Area. Without being able to use them I would sell my boat and buy something else.

This was one the main reasons I did the belly tank in my SR19.
It is amazing the ride difference,  compared to having all that weight in the ass end.

Yeah if I planned on having this boat forever I would likely do the same. The weight distribution with it in the rear is really bad haha. Good ride with trim tabs though
