What year?
« on: November 24, 2021, 11:28:39 AM »
I'm sure this is probably common knowledge among you veterans, what year did Mr Arima turn over the company to Mr Plamer? What year did they change the chine, And what year did they stop using wood in the stringers? I have a 2007 19' sr, have there been any changes in construction since 2007

All I can contribute to this subject is the dramatic chine line change on the Sea Legends between the 2001 and 2002 models.

The 2001 and earlier SL22's had a completely different chine design.   Below you can see in the first pic of the SL in my shop that the primary bow chine line is substantially more "upswept".   This in my opinion created a rougher ride and definitely created more bow spray.   This could possibly be corrected by installing spray rails.   I don't know.

The 2002 and newer models (second photo) have the standard and proven Arima chine line design.
