Fair price???  Hmmmm.  I'm trying to downgrade from a DRW to SRW.  Dealers are emailing me wanting my truck now a 2013 Duramax with about 50,000 miles.  Because of the chip shortage there is low inventories if any, high demand so prices will be high.  Dealers are offering a good price whatever that is and then splitting the profit after they sale it so if I guy sold as private the price should be even better.

I just checked the prices of my 2016 truck and 2021 truck. The 2021 truck went up $2000 since I ordered it. (Still 4-6 weeks before it is built) The 2016 went up 28% since I last checked.

Reading this stuff gets me thinking of how interesting it is that inflation may actually be rearing its ugly head.......despite the fact the economy is still (apparently) struggling to recover.  I suppose this is what happens when money continues to be "cheap".  Funny how, even after all these years, I can still hear my economics professor asking the class:  "What is inflation......anybody?"   Since nobody seemed dare raise a hand; he offered this:  "Inflation can be described as.......too much money, chasing too few goods."  At the time, this may have sounded like waaay too simple an explanation.  I mean..........what the hell did he know that we didn't?......Everything, I guess.

I have been looking for one for years. But then again I can be a CB. Maybe I should go ahead and trade my C-Dory or Arima for one.  :anyone:

Then there is this: My truck, my add :rimshot:

Guess I could include an Arima in the possible trades :yeahthat:

Could give my Arima friends a waiver on the out of state thing :clap:hing

Looking for a good truck that if it gets scratched isn't a big deal the local ramp is full of inconsiderate photographers who lean up against your truck with their buckle covered backpacks scratching everything they touch.

This situation is also referred to as supply and demand.

No chips = no new trucks, so low supply.
Everybody wants one, so high demand, thus higher prices!

Very difficult time for buyers!

When did the smog stuff begin?

Not so much "Smog" on the diesels, but the particulate filters started with the 2007 model year, and the exhaust fluid systems started with the 2011's.

I've had an '06, '07, '11, '15, and '16 DuraMax. All have been relatively trouble-free. I had a DEF system failure at < 50,000 miles on the 2015, replaced under warranty. Through the 2014 (I think) model year, most of the emissions stuff can be fairly easily removed and "tuned" out of the computer.

You can't get away with a "tuner" or deleting EGR or Def in California. They check every two years.

Gale Banks does make one that is certified for use in California, but it doesn't do much.

My '82 would blow out thick black smoke when I stepped hard on the pedal.  My '16 , you can stick your nose in the exhaust pipe while it's idling and it smells like clean, purified air.

My 2013 DEF system failed on my Duramax at just under 50,000 miles and had to be replaced.  Heater or something in the tank if I remember correctly.  Tank et cetera was replaced.
