Beached commercial looking boat at boat launch at Pillar Point boat launch. I noticed this yesterday and watched them pull cars with lights on last night. Still there today. Anyone know the story ? Looks like intentional grounding to me !

That is the lane at the launch that they use to destroy boats.  A excavation crew will be there for several days cutting up that vessel and disposing of it.

On YouTube have you guys ever watched the intentional grounding of ships at the ship breaking areas in India?  They get a big head of steam up and will ground the ship on the beach.  After that the crews will start to break the ship apart.  The running them up on the beach looks like it'd be a blast.

I was at Kiwanda in '57 - '58 -- wooden 20' dories through the surf.  Mostly jeeps and a few other 4x4.  One fellow shows up dragging a dory with his Cadillac.  He soon showed us his asshole mouth and attitude, being 'better' than the rest of us...  Backed his boat to the launch point, made preparations to launch, got in his car and gunned it.  Sank tires to the axle. 

He was promptly ignored by the 'common' folk who could have helped him be extracted as they were busy launching to catch the tide.  This was back in the day when the nearest beach access was 1.2 miles to the south, no tow company closer than Tillamook, and, of course, no phone of any kind closer that access area. 

When we came in, after a day fishing in the vicinity of Haystack, the caddy was still there, trunk lightly covered by sand, with water near the roof.  All because of a fellows mouth and attitude..  We have all met them...

Ahh yes, have similar story of Huntington Beach fence line in the early 80's. And sandblasting the paint right off that Cadillac hood pulling him out with my Jeep. Lol.  :beerchug:
