Great looking boat. Would love to get one for my 91 17’ SC here in the PAC NW.

Kind of like this.......this is a Whaler with a Pacific pilothouse. Just enough to keep you protected from wind and spray.

Now that I like!

But I’m afraid I’m in the minority on this one...I do not like the look of the Sea Chaser Yellowtail.
The top, like the Inland Boats tops just looks out of proportion to the boat.  It has the appearance of being top heavy and it looks kind of like an afterthought to me.  I just can’t see me or most of the guys I know ever buying one.
Now the 19 and 21’s with the forward swept windshield...those we like (I actually am in love with them) but I’d have to win the lottery to afford one.
We ALL know that’s not gonna happen!
PLEASE...Fly your flag Proudly, and remember to thank a Vet!

I stopped by the Arima display at the SEattle show Tuesday and took a close look at the Yellow tail.  Unfortunately the three guys manning the display were too busy talking to themselves to attend to my visit so my questions remain unanswered.

That being said, it appears Arima has developed a pilot house and attached it to a 19SC sans windshield (replaced by the pilot house).  I cannot speak to the height at the helm as I did not climb into the boat.

Perhaps had one of the attendants asked if I had questions, alas not likely to find out now.

Fixer;   What?  Three guys manning the display....and they were too busy to talk to you?   Now that would piss me off.  In that case, I would have stood very close to them and said.......in a very loud voice:   "Yellowtail"?    Looks like an old ho in a new skirt to me!"   See....you've got to know how to get peoples' attention.   Haha

I spent Saturday morning at the Fred Hall Fishing Show in Long Beach, CA and ran into the Defiance team. I met Bo for the first time and we chatted for a while. The had the SC Yellowtail on site so I climbed up and in and Found the hardtop to be right at 6'5" because I I am right at 6'4.5" and with shoes on, and with not having a haircut for a while, I was just skimming the top. I give it a thumbs up for height. I suspect that the latches for the hatches would have been a bump issue for me though.

We talked a bit about how low previous hardtops were and why the skip towers might be so popular. Bo corrected me and noted that they don't sell many skip towers on new Arimas. They're mostly and afterthought purchased (purchased by current Arima boat owners). The Defiance Yellowtail boats were popular but the design wasn't as stable as the Arima design so they thought the SC was a natural for the new top. Defiance booked five orders for the SC Yellowtail at the Seattle show and one or two more at another show.

There was a new option available for Arimas that was on display on the SC YT. A bait tank bracket that fits where the kicker bracket usually does.  Here's a couple of photos. One includes Bo.

Am I crazy to think that’s a lot of unstable weight?

Disposable;:  A word of advice:   Never...…….EVER, question the motives of a "mad scientist".   I mean....just check-out the look on Bo's face. I haven't seen a look like that since Dr. Frankenstein first observed a "twitch" in the hand of his own creation.  That's happiness my friend.........that's happiness.   Wait!  I'm having second thoughts.  Maybe that look has something to do with the fact that he sold 5 "Yellowtails"???    Hey...…..just "speculating".  Haha

Yikes - 30 gallons of water affixed to the transom sounds a bit ass-heavy to me!

That will be a looooooong reach across that sponson.
Going to need a lower tank and a flexible handle net you can grab bait without seeing them.

That's a Kodiak tank-  sold by WM ( they maybe the sole source now )  I was looking for a 32 gal but decided to put the 22 gal on blocks to get the overflow high enough

I saw a 17ft Arima in Half-moon Bay that has a bait tank bracket, (in place of kicker) and tank on it. I don’t remember the size of the tank, but it may have been a round, cylinder shaped tank, smaller in diameter than the one shown on the Yellowtail.
