Before the big storms rolled in I went bottom fishing out of Garibaldi.

The ocean conditions were 1.9 feet at 19 seconds with the wind less than 5 mph.

The ocean does not get much flatter than that.

On Friday October 11th the fish didn't  bite very good and I ended up with 167 lbs of bottom fish.

The highlight of the day was catching the below Lingcod which weighed 30 lbs.

The rod I hooked this lingcod on was not big enough to get the fish off the bottom.

I had to fight the fish by holding the line with my hands while my partner cut the line above my hands and tie the line with the fish on it to the line to a larger rod.

On Saturday the 12th the fish bite was much better.

On Saturday I caught 569 lbs of fish.  That was my best day ever.

With the ocean conditions and my new Yamaha 175 I cruised back to port at 24 knots.   :mememe:

The fish is almost sold,  I sure hope these storms go away so I can go fishing again.

I had filled up all my tuna customer lists.
I had a lot of bottom fish orders to fill.
