It's time for me to start putting some tools in the Chaser. What do you suggest for a tool box? I'm thinking something soft-sided so it doesn't slide around in the cuddy.

I use one of those orange, water tight marine boxes. You could add some small rubber feet so it doesn't slide around. I also have some Craftsman wrenches that come in the rollable canvas case.

I also like the soft sided bags. Fortunately we end up with some extra power tool bags from work and I use them as tool bags. The bags are heavy duty and make great bags for holding lead weights.

I use a small Rubbermaid tote. It sits on the little shelf behind the porta-potty space, with my spare prop.

2 years ago I bought a Harbor Freight 12" tool bag, one they always sell for like $6. I used to have it in the cuddy, but moved it next to the battery to have extra room in the cuddy.  In it, I have my old motorcycle tool kit, which is nice because everything is a little smaller, along with a few other tools.
It's held up well.

Soft sided needs to be waterproof....or your tools should be in watertight containers with Silica Gel.

I put my hooks, swivels etc in clear snap shut waterproof containers. I save the silica pouches from Seaweed Snacks, Beef Jerky, etc. and put them in with the hooks. Works great to keep stuff like new. The hooks I use are $1.00 each.

Cheapo alternative....Put some 5200 on the bottom of an ammo box.

I use these......one for tools, one for safety equipment. Water tight.

I think I will need to pick one of those up for my flares. My Orion case cracked and they're expensive to replace.

A 12"lx9"wx6" deep plastic box with snap on lid works fine sitting on a cushion...  If course I have now upgraded from flares to the electronic flare so nothing fits any more.  But you get the idea...  K.I.S.S. works well

I too use one of those plastic Ammo can boxes. I have assorted screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches, deep sockets, 12v test light, assorted pliers, wire stripper/crimper, hammer, etc. I always use my on-board tool kit when performing the typical maintenance and minor repairs on the boat, even if at home. This way, if I find I'm missing something, I can add it to the kit.

I use those ammo boxes for all my Halibut and bottom fishing. They hold many pounds of lead. Harbor Freight has sells and I paid $2.99 each.

I won't leave the bay without a modest set of tools but my backup is BoatUS tow insurance which I have already purchased. You
