We did Halibut Saturday with a not so great forecast, but the ocean wasn't too bad.  Halibut started off good and we hooked 3 on our first drift and got 2 and lost 1.  We then got nothing until 1 pm.  I finally gave up on that spot and went to try a few others to see if I could save the day before making the long drive home.  We didn't find anything so I ran farther offshore and dropped down and we got 3 more fish on in 3 minutes put a small 25 chicken in the box and decided not to fish for deep lings since it was so late in the day and just run in near shore for bass.  While bass fishing I got a surprise and this big girl gave me all I could handle on light tackle.  My net is all bent up now but what a fun ending to a trip.

It weighed 33.5 lbs at the dock bled out so was most likely around 34 live weight.  The biggest I prior to this one was 32 lbs at West Port.

It ate the tackle.  I have caught other nice lings at westport that came in as riders, but not this girl.
