I like my stock original seats and I was thinking of replacing them because they're worn out, dirty and grimey, but didn't feel like spending the money.
I ended up getting new foam for the seats and I found this vinyl cleaner online made buy one of my favorite companies that make cleaning products, Spray Nine.
This is their marine cleaner and I was impressed with it as it took the 20 plus years of crud off in little to no time.  :smile1:

I also bought a drill adapter brush on Amazon for $12 figure I use my elbow grease for something else.
Going to start cleaning next week!

Looks like it works good AJ. Those vinyl seats can be really hard to clean. Please post up a follow up pic when you finish her up

I've tried a few different products and nothing seemed to worked, but this stuff was pretty good. I'll probably get to it late this weekend. Got to have a clean boat right

:yeahthat:, I thought about waxing mine tomorrow but I just might change my mind. The last time I waxed it (the whole thing inside and out) my wife helped me. She wasn't very happy. She thought we were done and I said oh no, we haven't even started on the bottom yet :jester:

Yeah I don't think my wife would be to thrilled either :jester:

I rather rewire my boat again then wax my boat  :jester:

Yeah.......waxing can be a chore, but I discovered, only if you make a big job out of it.  I find it much easier to do it "piecework".  What I mean is..........if I have a few minutes on any given day, I'll wax only one section.  For example:  One day I may do just the transom.  On another day I may tackle the hull sides.....and so on.  Much easier and it gets (what I call) "consistently maintained".  With that said, there seems to be no way to do the bottom without a fair amount of effort.  That's the part you might try getting your wife to do.  Oh yeah, and I should say; good luck with that. :jester:

BTW, AJ;  Dampen some towels with bleach and lay them across those seats.  They'll look like new!

The guy that reupholstered my rear seats said don't use bleach on vinyl becauseas it can ruin it.
So to be cautious, because the seats are original, I went with the Spray Nine.

Yes waxing is a chore and I made an equation regarding it.
17-16 out 20 = 0. This means no matter what size boat you have, it's a PITA to wax no matter how many days you spread it out  :jester:

Waxing boats isn't that bad if you have the right tools.
What I mean is good quality wax like the 3m brand stuff.
And a high quality buffer like the Mikita milty speed one.
There's no point in waxing the bottom of your boat.
I don't wax below the waterline .
Saltwater actually will buff the bottom of your hual over time

Wait a minute!  17 minus 16 out 20 has nothing to do with wax.  I think AJ was sleeping in class that day. :jester:   BTW, mix a 1:1 bleach solution to clean that vinyl.  Soak some towels in it and place on the seats.  Check every few minutes.  When your done, treat with something like that Aerospace 303.

Careful now you guys..............I've had extensive training and received a high level of education in washing and waxing at M.I.T.  That's right.........I used to do the floors there. :jester:   (Not really......just couldn't think of anything else to say and thought this was pretty funny)   :jester:

Mark;  Try this:    https://www.amazon.com/Whink-Stain-Remover-Fluid-Ounce/dp/B000ZZYUE2   If that doesn't work, you may have to go to muriatic acid.   Rust stains are a big PITA.  Try to never get those on anything.

Whink is an incredible rust stain remover. If you have iron water you can squirt it on your tub etc. And watch the stain run off. Its extremely potent though,so be very careful with it!

This morning I went out and cleaned 1 of my seats with the Spray Nine Marine cleaner and my drill brush attachment. Took about 5-10 minutes in cleaning the seat to bring it back looking like new!
This stuff is great and using the drill attachment sure makes things easier, and no sweat doing it.

My German Shepherd wanted to model the seats :jester:

Yeah it worked out great. I didn't think it would clean the seat as well as it did, since the other cleaners I've purchased barely made a difference.

I have been using Spray Nine for years, boat seats, top, etc any mildew. Spray it on scrub it with stiff brush then spray with the hose! Works well to clean vinyl siding on your house as well. I even bring it in at work to do clean ups after refits on ships to remove greasy finger prints and other messes. Mark my yacht friends use urinal cleaner to remove rust stains, crazy eh they say it works well.
