   Like Fixer, I discovered a loose cable on my dump trailer battery.  Replaced the conventional nuts with nylox nuts, but found I had to use stainless flat washers first as the cable holes were a little too big.  I think the "come loose" problem is solved.  On my boat battery, I have stainless flat washers, lock washers and thumb screws.  Call it belt and suspenders, but I might get rid of the thumb screws and go with nylox on that as well. 


   Sometimes I think people use thumbscrews on boat batteries because (in case emergency) they can be removed without the use of tools.  My thoughts have always been, if you don't carry tools, you shouldn't have a boat, right?  :shrug9:
