Guys installing my G3 radar dome, dose anyone know the compensation angle while on plane...2,4,6 degrees...

If not I guess I will have to unwrap the boat and go for a spin with a angle finder when the weather gets better.

Dev I bought the 4 degree model from battle wagon which I mounted forward on the roof.  Due to the downward curve of the roof it looked like a lot more than 4 degrees when done.  I tried to adjust it by stacking some SS washers under the front of the dome.  For a forward mount I'd go with 0 degree.  That said both ways the radar is great up close or 25 miles out.

0 degree front or back the hard top already has a forward slope....then you can fine tune with spacers as needed

Agree.

The radomes usually have a pretty wide vertical beam. A something like 30 degrees.

A few degrees one way or the other won't make much difference since our little boats are not very high off the water.

For me.....angling it forward would be to avoid hitting yourself in the eyes with the rays. The newer radars are not a worry.  (And I already repaired my cataracts)

Yes. You are right. Could have been better worded. I should have said the "beam" instead of the "rays".

My arch was at 5 degrees...even on the smaller waves I would lose the horizon.
I ended up shimming the rear another 2 degrees and that did the trick up to about a 6' waves.
So my total was ~7 degrees.
