Kicker bracket mount question
« on: May 10, 2018, 06:55:45 AM »
Im replacing my factory bracket with a heavy duty garelick. My question is will the factory bolts that screw in be strong enough to hold the 9.9 hp yamaha im putting on it or should i reinforce with a plate and use bolts with nuts on the inside? Thanks in advance for any help.

Personally I like the thru bolts with backing plates on the inside.

I have the Garelick with a 9.9 Yami and it had thru bolts, I added some SST back plates a while back, if I recall correctly  there was not a lot of room for one large back plate but there is enough room for 4 individual back plates.
