Winterizing

We might never need this in So. California, but I think it would work pretty good for Salt Away as well.

Could probably just make one out of a gas jug.

Dumping antifreeze out on the ground....I don’t think so. All our runoff goes into the sound...where the fish are.  :nono:

Look like they are using RV antifreeze that is used in RV potable water tanks.  If it is safe for humans it should be safe for fish.

These work great for warming up an outboard where water isn't available prior to launching. There are a lot of beach-launch dorys that warm up their motors prior to launching in the surf with them.

What about SaltAway.? Does it hurt the fish ?

My understanding SaltAway affects the protective slim on fish and they can become more susceptible to disease. That’s why ther don’t like you to use that in the marina.

SaltAway wouldn’t provide any protection from freezing and that seam to be the point. I’ve had my motors sitting in freezing weather with no problem. I don’t think there is enough water left in the motor to cause damage from freezing.

Hahaha. It’s when you need to wear long pants, long sleeves, and shoes.   :shrug9:  kind of like accessorizing only different.

I wear shorts, a t-shirt, and shoes almost every day of the year. I might take a big leap and wear jeans, a t-shirt, a hoodie, and some sneakers for once in my life. Call the news team!!!

I took the membership boat out last week. As I was preparing for the winter weather, I decided to wear a t-shirt underneath my fishing shirt.
Previously owned a 1998 19' SR

Lures are designed to catch fishermen not fish.
