Yes. Nacho recognizes me and remembers how I tip. Been buying bait from him for a long time. Back in the 80's there was an old man with a bad leg on that barge. Same thing. I developed a relationship. Now and then I would bring him doughnuts. Nacho likes Breakfast McMuffins.  :jester:  Once you get to know those bait guys, they will treat you well.  Nacho gets grouchy after dealing with so many googans....but he is really a good guy. If he barks at you occasionally, just put yourself in his place. Not the best job.

The fact is, the more sardines you put in any sized tank, the more will die. If you put 1/2 scoop in a 2 scoop tank, they will last a lot longer than if you put 2 scoops. So no, I wouldn't take that bet. Just sayin' it's a 2 scoop tank because the guy who made it says so.

Took the wife out for a Harbor cruise / bait tank test.  It was 85 degrees at the house when we left. When we got to the harbor (13 miles) it was 61 degrees at the launch ramp. My wife wore sandals and a light sleeveless tee. She is still thawing out.  :jester:   :stirthepot:

We docked the boat and had lunch at a little taco place on Balboa Island...then a chocolate covered frozen banana a couple doors down from the taco place.

The bait tank worked like it should. Filled in 8 minutes. *check* Overflow worked fine. *check* Drain into the bilge with the fill hose worked. *check*   Pulling the stand pipe out lets the water drain too. So I have a couple of ways to drain the tank.

Excellent. Sounds like it's hooked up properly
I hear ya about the big difference in weather down there. My wife and I went to the Cabrillo aquarium today and it was fogged in.
Took this picture of the cranes, eerie looking. My wife said it looks like something out of Star Wars. :jester:

That movie on Blue Ray sounds awesome through my 12" subwoofer surround sound. It plays down to 16hz. Although the human ear can't hear 16hz it's sure cool to feel the couch shaking when those things come out of the ground

Thanks TC. We'll see tomorrow morning if it helps me catch more fish.    :beerchug:

Maybe I won't have to get up out of my chair to grab a bait.  :shrug9:  :beerchug: :jester:

Very nice CS, keep us posted on how it works out for you.

The tank worked really nice. Plenty of room to fish and it kept the bait alive all day. I didn't like spending the $850 but what good is all the expensive fishing gear and electronics if your bait is no good ?

We caught some nice California Halibut. Sams was 44" long and 35 lbs. The other two were 30" and 32". We wound up with approx 25 pounds of fresh halibut filets. (Almost paid for the tank.)

Hahaha. I had to twist his arm. I had to insist on staying in one place too. When he want to move I would say....Be patient !!  The tide will swing.

Boy was he excited.!!  He did a fishy dance   around the boat and grabbed me and gave me a big bro hug.  :shrug9:  wish I had a video of that.  :jester:   It was his personal best for Cali Halibut.
