Went down to the boat today, what fun! going back down tomorrow and getting the boat set up and ready for some crabbing next week and also trying for the elusive winter chinook. Don't care if I catch anything. Just love being out.
Did you read Marks post about the crab in the Fishing report section?

Mark is talking about the coast. Crabbing is open in Puget Sound in the areas we go. Thanks

Like Tom Mac I am 45 minutes from Pedder to Sooke and so far have been OK with hearing about the great fishing there and fishing and not catching in Oak Bay. I am looking forward to getting home from vacation to fish "the flats" for feeder springs 10 minutes from home. TomMac is there any winter fishery near the Saanich inlet I could fish while soaking prawn traps?

I have heard nothing yet on salmon, I do know the crabbing is all ways good in Cowichan Bay in my top secret classified spot! I have not been out for prawns yet.

A very long time ago when crab was cheap my secret spot was the fish store in Cow bay they would even clean them if you talked nice. I had a cabin at Shawinigan and had to stop feeding crab to the guests as they kept dropping in.

I dont have a secret spot for crab yet. I have heard of a few places to try. I do have a favorite spot for salmon. Costco.  :fishing:
