On page 21 of the October/November AARP magazine there is an article about a website to claim lost money from businesses that owe you money but can't find you.
To see what may be waiting for you search for "escheated property" and a state name and that will take you to a searchable database.
I found $50-$100 owed to me by Symantec and filed a claim for it to be paid.
Fun activity for a snowy fall day.

SF I just googled "escheated property washington" and got there.  However, to save you the trouble of having to spell escheated here's the link!  But you'll notice it has WA in there, so try the one I searched for Oregon.

Since my first name is my official name and I go by my middle name I searched for both names.  Because my wife is from another state we searched for her there.  Also checked her maiden and married names.

I found $50 for my son. I forwarded him the info and he filed a claim.

I did not get anything. SOOO---this must be a RIP OFF !!!   

Actually, about a decade or so ago, I got around $900 sniffing through this source.  For some reason it is managed through the Division of State Lands (the guys that manage rivers and wetlands) in Oregon

Nothing for me or my wife but found about $70 for my deceased father in law. My wife applied for that.

Is that site for real? I have a claim for over $100 for At&t.......Karen also has one for over $100.

I applied for $31 owed to my deceased father. Didn't work. Now I have to file a written claim and mail it. Must be witnessed by a notary. Not worth the hassle.

I'd go for this just to put them through the cost and effort of having to pay it...   :shark:  Then don't cash the check for 2.5 months just so they have to keep the books open on it...

Did I mention that big banks are not on my Christmas card list???
