Dev,

I fabricated two cylinders out of schedule 80 PVC pipe and made pistons with "0" rings and 1/4" SS rod.  I connected one cylinder to main engine as master cylinder and other to kicker as slave,  connected the with plastic tubing. (no pump required)  Never completed the project before I upgrade to current boat.

Some day I will get back on that project.

Cool...would have been nice to see how it worked...Maybe you could post the details.

FYI
Lock to lock speed approx 6-7 seconds. Center to either side approx 3-3.5 seconds.
I also changed the cylinder rod eye and connections to the items on the list.. I used a older picture I took while as I was waiting for the stainless parts to arrive.

Dev,

Forgot to mention that I did have the Goetz electric/hydraulic for my kicker on my 21 SR Skip Tower. My control was hard wired with a spring loaded toggle switch.  looked almost like your setup.

Ok...
At first I was going to use a tie rod..but i still could not control the speed unless I reached out back.
So I ordered the Itroll a while back its been sitting at home so I finally decided to install it... then I decided to use the steering feature also.
At first I tried small tire compressor and air cylinder... The compressed air was a nightmare to control, I tried using small air solenoids to switch cylinder direction...very inconsistent...
Then I went hydraulic..
I was going to use a single acting pump and valves, but after my compressed air fiasco I wanted to just make it simple...

This is just a double acting pump and cylinder system...Parker hydraulics has all the info in their pump brochure...I took the info and ran with it...as you can see the schematic on my #7 post.
I did not want to run big wires to the front so I installed a reversing relay close to the pump, the illuminated toggle switch has less than 1 amp on it to switch from left to right. I'm going to cut it into the dash (when pushed down it lights up red or orange depending on what side you toggle it ). Parker had a system to reverse using 4 large solenoids in the brochure (page 18) shown below..I just simplified it using a reversing solenoid. (Shown in post #6)

That's a great job you did there, very nice. With that much R and D it should be marketed! I have drawn up on a napkin a push pull from the main with a cable but finding time to gather up all the parts and putting it to gather would eat up to much fishing time!
