I use one fuel source so I wasn't even sure you could run the main and the kicker at the same time without fuel starving one or the other......I automatically shut down the main before I attempt to start the kicker, have never had an issue with both motors running :shrug9:

Now a light or buzzard for a "fish on" would work for me.

Now we need a thing to get him to turn off his turn signal...a noise , or maybe flashing light in the dash someplace ...on his truck!

Hey now!  We haven’t even fished together yet and you are already giving me grief?

Question: If your main idles so low and quiet, why do you even need a kicker? I have a Suzuki four-stroke 70hp on my 1511 Sea Chaser and I can run as slow as 1.2 knots at idle and it does so quietly, without any exhaust fumes, and the steering runs straight and true (versus a kicker that is off-center).

My main now has about 800 hours.  If I didn’t have a kicker, that number would be about 3,800.  We troll a lot. The kicker saves hours from the main, fuel, and is a back up way to get home or stay out of trouble while fishing where there is no one to immediately rescue you.

Admittedly I have done this more than a few times!  :shrug9: but I look at it this way, I have been charging the batteries with both motors and I have lightened up the rear end by burning some more gas!  :bigshock: embarrassing but harmless!
