Discovery Bay Marine Gear pot puller

These pullers were discussed on a post in the fishing section, does anyone have contact info for them?
Gfakkema willl your davit location allow a pot to clear the downrigger and or the house?

I was looking at their gear yesterday. Bought a couple of nice commercial style pots at Costco and now think in need to upgrade my puller to get them over the rails. I like DB pullers and the price is reasonable.

Mark,

It would not clear the downrigger still mounted. I do have the rail mount and the 1116 package which raises the downrigger quite a bit vs if they were mounted directly to the gunnel. You can see that it barely clears the rail mount with the downrigger removed...

The davit will also clear the house, but the pulley will barely touch it when swung. The davit can still be swung 360 degrees though. I'd like to move it to the step, if possible, for various reasons. First, it would allow the pots to be swung onboard without having to remove the downrigger, and second, to gain a little more height. I might have to have a new mount made in order to recess it into the step because the provided mounts would not allow it.

I was wondering about those points, thanks for mentioning them.  I'd hate to give up the step into the boat on my 21, though.  Every time I board I appreciate the thoughtfulness of Arima design.

Mark,

I was picturing a mount that would be recessed into the step so that the step could still be used. I was thinking something like this...

That's the kind of 'cup in the step' holder I was thinking of.  Robert's looks like an ankle biter for short people boarding.

Got a source?

No source, that was just a quick Google image search. If I get really serious about moving the mount I will probably get in touch with the folks at Discovery Bay and talk to them about getting something made. I still have to look and make sure that the mount will fit on/in the step and still line up with the top mount.

Plus then you would have an extra cup holder when not using the davit!    Can't have too many cup holders.

Dear Arima:  Stretch the Hunter platform by 5. Next, stretch the Explorer by 9 and steal 2 or 3 from the cabin.  Please hurry, I'm getting old.

If someone is looking for one of these Discovery Bay Pot pullers here is a really good deal on craigslist. I bought one of the DB pullers and love it.
