News:

Welcome to the largest gathering of Arima boat owners anywhere. We are a forum based gathering of Arima Boat enthusiasts that like to pleasure cruise, fish, camp, and hunt. While Arimas are centered in the PNW, we have members across the globe. It is 3/4's water after all. Lurk, join up, and post about your Arima upgrades, family trips, and of course, your fishing exploits. Just remember to add photos whenever possible.

Arima owners by itself is boring, but when you add Canvas Guy's creative touch to it, I think it's pretty cool!

Verrrrrry Interesting.  I know you just can't wait to do this up with the wave Gary ... waiting to see but we are coming closer. "Arima Lover"

The "Arima Owner's"  is worth thinking about and has my interest.

I don't think I would ever have an "Arimalovers.com" sticker plastered anywhere  Sounds too much like a porn site  I would rather have the "alcoholic" conotation than the Dirk Diggler inference  :shrug9:

Scratch that....maybe when I was younger...ha

Hit that "ArimaOwners.com", "Arima Owners . com, etc with some differing positions on the wave, fonts, etc.  just for fun. Two words, three words, etc.  If a swoosh can do it for Nike, a wave should do it for us.

Isn't it better if a url contains searchable key words? (like "arima boat")

I'm liking that Gary. I'd plaster that on my boat and truck.

To clarify, I'm in the "don't care" camp about a site name change and all.  I'm more interested in decals for my boat, truck and perhaps hand out cards to get people to our site.  It has to be easy and simple because they won't have a pen and us old farts have to remember it all the way home.

CavGuy's last is coming close.  If you search it, you get directed to our present site is the idea. Danno am I wrong in that statement? Our present site keeps its name and stays the same.  Arima Owners.com directs you to us.

When I say ArimaBoatOwnersGroup.com or Arimaboatownersgroup.YUKU (I'm not saying that one much now-a-days), people fall asleep.

Gary,
Maybe if you used your "Christmas ghost of the past holding a chinook" avatar, and had it in the background of Arima owners.com.... :bigshock:

I'm considerably relieved that Arimaholics was dropped.

Don't have any suggestions, but like something with the wave.  Would make a nice decal.

As Danno suggests, let it ride for a while.  Let the subconscious work.  Maybe the "blow your socks off name" will come to someone in a dream.

Danno

I think we (at least me) need(s) some clarification as to what is being proposed and discussed.  I think we have some different ideas from the post I read.

Me:  I'm in the camp (and it might be lonely) that is of the view to keep our present site and name.  All other names, logos and other pretty things would be used to transfer inquires to this site.  No changes to what we are successfully using.  I don't have conflict with YUKU or any other site.

What I thought we were going for was a catchy simple design to display publicly that leads observers to this site.

With that as my objective I like ones like Arima Owner's.com on the wave and things like that on the table or ready to be proposed.  I wish to have decals made, maybe business cards and what ever to put on my boat/truck/outhouse so people can see it and remember it long enough so when they go home they punch it in and are directed to this site.

I'm confused when some times you seem to be saying a site name change, etc.

Am I off base? ... what are we talking about/trying to achieve in your view?

Woody.

I personally like the simple ones. My favorites:

Good questions Woody.

This is a fun group and I think it would be great to have a name that matches that enthusiasm. I think it would also be nice to differentiate us a bit from the Yuku group because having two groups with similar names confuses people new to the Arima forums. If we're going to go through that trouble, I would switch the URL as well. If you typed in arimaowners.com and found yourself at arimaboatownersgroup.com, you would become a bit suspicious. If I did that, my first thought would be spam or viruses. The current URL would point to the new URL so that less active members could always find us.

This is great conversation. New names are still being proposed. CG still doesn't like TeamArima.com but he was nice enough to create a logo for it. I like TeamArima.com better than ArimaOwners.com but I also think we can do better than either.
