Thanks.  It's a Honda 4 stroke.

I know it's hard without seeing it. Just wanting to know around what they are worth.

Since I have very little experience with Arimas.  Is the Sea Sprinter a less desirable, and  therefor much cheaper Arima?  Do they have inherent issues?

Not going to hold anyone's feet to the fire, I just want some better informed people to give me some ideas as to value range.

Sometimes it's better saying how much they are asking for it because the guys will pick it apart and tell you why "that's too much"...

It would seem that if you could swoop it up for less than 4 you would be in good shape... much more and your in the realm of preety good to fair deal...might be able to get 6-8k in the spring/summer...

It is local so no transportation cost...

Tax and registration fees might be considered as well...

Thank you,

Was it basic  or all the bells and whistles at that price?

Among other things, he had replaced all the panels with starboard...  The residue from which he managed to track through the house, which, in turn, got him busy constructing a roomy dog house.....   :jester:

Hahahahaha!

Ok, hear is the "rest of the story.

The  boat is being sold by the grandkids. Grand dad was original owner (1989). I has been sitting in a a car port for two years, but was serviced (so they say) before it was sat.  Hull has a repair up front, they think is superficial and caused by the trailer.  It has a 40hp Honda. It was repowered, but they don't know when or the age/hours on the boat.
It is titled in Cali. Was brought here and not retitled here yet.

Says the wood is weathered and it has a FF that looks like it is from the 80's.  Fuel was drained and replaced this summer. Motor was run on muffs.

All the lights work on the boat and trailer.

So, that's as much detail as I have been able to glean.  What say you guys.

I think I saw this boat advertised last summer... a buddy of mine was interested but never got a response to his inquiries about it.

My take from the photos he showed me... it is a little bit of a risky project (based on what they were asking back then), but if it turns out that everything is on the up and up, it could be a nice deal.  Sprinters are rare, and if you need an open bow pocket fisher, you have to jump on deals like this when they come up.

I would offer them $3500, contingent on the motor passing a mechanical inspection, and see what they say.  You cover the cost of the inspection (likely $200 or so from a Honda dealer) and they get a copy of it.

That said, proceed cautiously... if this is the boat I am thinking about, it was on the market last summer on Craigslist.  It didn't sell then, so I'd go over it with a fine toothed comb.

Pretty basic because I moved everything to the new boat. It had a nice 2003 F50 Yamaha outboard and no kicker.

Without pictures and not knowing the hours/condition of the motor....but it is a 4-stroke (I'm guessing carbureted so it would require a good going through and most likely the carb's rebuilt).
I'd pull the upper plug on the lower unit to check the condition of the fluid.  If it's milky...now the lower end need going through in addition to a new impeller).
Does it have power trim /tilt?  does it work?
Motor...$1500
The HULL had a collision with something hard enough to require a repair?  How does the repair look?  RTV with paint?...or done properly and you can't even tell it was there?
Hull $1500 MAYBE $1800
I would not allow anything for the antiquated electronics,
Minimal on the trailer ($700-750).  Maybe even closer to $500.

For a total I'd guess try to get it for no more than $2800 BUT...if you really wanted it you could go as high as $3200.
I would not give them the full asking price as you do not know the extent of motor and possibly hull work needing to be done.

But hey...what do I know...I paid $2700 for my Chaser and it had a lot of things wrong with it.  ...and that was WITHOUT a trailer!!
BTW...I have not stopped working on it since the day I brought it home.  ALWAYS a project going on.  Wish I'd just bought a new one to start with...

But then you would have just wasted your time and money fishing and getting out on the water...  Just what do you think a boat is for anyway Terry???   :hoboy:

And think how bored we would be without all your projects to make us grateful that they are your projects and not ours

Gee thanks Russ...
I'm just getting tired of working on it and having to complete this or that before I can get it on the water.
The wife is far more tired of it than I am...she keeps saying to sell the damn thing and buy a new boat.
Then I can use it, wash it, and put it away for the next time instead of repair it, use it, wash it, repair something else, then put it away for the next time.
Oh well...it is what it is.... :shrug9:

My project list for the winter boat work is only 12 items long (so far).  That is in addition to the Honey Due list that must be completed before springer season gets here....

I think the best deal would be to sell it to a neighbor for an exorbitant price with a rider clause that the neighbor keep it washed, cleaned, maintained, repaired and available to take you fishing whenever you wish... and you only buy your share of the fuel & bait.

I am still looking for that neighbor myself

Take it out on the lake and make sure it runs and steers and all items function or else knock the price for the repairs.

I thinks I will pass on this one...

I was intending on trying a turn around to see if I  could make enough to help with a kicker for my 19. But even if I can get it for $2800, which is $1100 below what their asking, it doesn't seem like there is enough in it to make it worth the trouble.
