Last summer at Critter Cove we had a freak encounter with a stray bolt protruding from a dock.  It ripped off the SS prop guard and broke off on of the cavitation plates.
I'm about to take the boat in to have the $$ service done and want to remove the lower end hand have the repair made at Mukilteo Propeller prior to having the motors serviced.
Anyone know a source of instructions for the removal?  I'll let the service guy change the water pump and replace the unit.

there is a picture at the end i took when i did the shaft extension.  it shows the shift rod coupler location. it consists of a couplng nut and 2 jam nuts . unscrew the upper jam nut upward. then screw the coupling nut upward until it disengages the shift rod. do not touch the lower nut as when you put it back together you will screw the coupling nut back down to it and your adjustment will still be where it was. then bring the jam nut back down against it.

by taking out the lower bolts and undoing the shift coupler  the lower unit should slide off.

So once I get it disassembled that far, what else to do to replace the water pump?

Grease the splines on drive shaft (be careful no to get grease on    end of drive shaft) Punt antiseeze on all bolts during re assembly.

4 bolts and remove impeller cover and replace impeller at a minimum or you can buy a complete kit and replace everything cover,plate,impeller,woodruff key,etc
