I'm planning to head south for a dive trip at the end of the month. Target species WSB. Anywhere between LA county and the Mexican border. I know that info can be hard to come by, but am wondering if any of my Arima brethren might have any insights that they would be willing to share via PM. Thank you in advance.

:yeahthat: They don't call them the "white ghost" because they're easy to find. Only advice i can give is to find the squid

Seabass are a ( hush hush ) in my opinion .
The people that know how to catch and find them usually don't talk.
Good luck down south .
It's all about having the right conditions and then giving it a shot.

I understand that they are a quiet fish. I don't need specific spots, but general zones that are holding squid would be nice. Thanks to all.

THEY are at Catalina pV salt creek barn kelp

They are called the grey ghost

We offer charters starting at $650 for arima owners

They are all 100% skill fish to catch or 100% dumbluck... you need to know how to read conditions really well and be patient. Or sit on a squid bed and get lucky when a school swims thru. They like murky creepy water. Depth doesn't matter I've caught them in 200ft and 2ft practically beaching themselves

Hopefully this helps if it doesn't pm me and we can go fishin

How many guests does that include?
2015 19' Sea Chaser (2019 to current)
1998 19' Sea Ranger (2003 to 2008)

Lures are designed to catch fishermen not fish.

Typically 3 but we can accommodate 4 adults + 2small kids

That price is much lower than normal but it's my way of giving back to this awesome community. I'm excited this aug I'm going up to BC to visit another member and go fishing for a few days

AustinB

Thank you very much, Ssericz. I appreciate your insight and will contact  you if ever looking for a charter in the area.

Rokefin

Croaker, I have watched a lot of Brandons video's and read some of his books - good info.

Ssericz,   a charter would definitely be the way to go - much too far for most of us to run down there a number of times trying to figure out the WSB action.
Love those fish, caught one a few years ago in Bodega 100% dumb luck in 25 feet of water. Had to share the fish with 2 other comrades, I ate my share in about 10 days - great eats!!! 45 pounder.

My boat I use will live in SD after this fishing season so more so-cal opportunities for me in the future :cha:
