Lots of new members to the forum. Please consider locating yourself on the members map. Don't put the marker on your house, rather somewhere within a couple of miles. Old members not on the map should do the same. It's easy to do. Let us know if you have a problem.
Sure is helpful when checking who might be close for information.

Russ...Can I relocate my pin or is it just...where I placed it?
You can relocate it. At the bottom of the map there is a click here to relocate or edit your pin link.
This will take you to your options, scroll down and you will find your pin in a small map. Click on your pin and it will go away. Move the cursor to where you want it and click again ... Walla' its like magic, you're moved.
Don't forget to save your settings at the bottom of the page or nothing will happen when you close.

Sorry Russ but I must be more blind than my optometrist says because I cannot find anything on my profile to relocate the pin.
I also looked from the member map.
No worries though...my map pin is placed a little too close to my exact location...like right on it!
You said we should place it a ways away so I was going to relocate it. I didn't think anything about it until you mentioned it and realized that anyone on the web can view our map...not just members.
BELAY MY LAST!!! I found it...pin has been moved.
Thank you sir!
Yeah, when "they" found out I had always had a keg on tap, I had to slightly mis-place my pin too. :beerchug:
I put my pin at my "home port" in Whittier, Alaska. It's 100+ miles from my house, but it's where I typically launch, so it made sense to put it there.
Ak...
Isn't that similar to placing your pin in the lower 48?
I mean the distances in ak are like double down here right??? :jester:
Well, now that you mention it... :yeahthat:

If you are not located on the member map (see the bar across the top of the page...), please do so. It helps us respond to many of the questions. For security reasons we do not recommend you locate your pin on your home, rather pick someplace in the general vicinity such as City Hall, a nearby park, your local launch or something similar

And I complain about having to drive 15 miles to launch.
Lots of new members since the last post (2015), not many new pins on the map??? :shrug9:

I have put a pin on my profile, but it does not show up on the Members Map. I tried a couple of times.

Hmm,
I tried a few thigs and could not get it to work for you. I'll need some more time to look into it further.

Members Map people....MEMBERS MAP!
One of my pet peeves is folks asking or selling something...
They don't State their location or put a pin in the members map.
🤷🏻♂️
I just don't understand!!
Trying to pin my location on the map. I click the link to add/edit my pin location. All I get is my forum profile page.
Help. What am I missing? :shrug9:
I don't know why I can't drop a pin on my location, I have tried several times but the pin just won't stick. I must be doing something wrong.

Apparently Google updates their accessories without my permission. I have updated the GoogleMap software from 3.0.3 to 3.0.6 and it seems to be working again. Please report any new problems.
Thank you for your patience!
