Title: ANNOUNCEMENT: Retiring the ArimaBoatOwnersGroup.com Domain
Post by: Danno on December 19, 2018, 09:42:34 AM
When I started this group I had a vision of an Arima forum that is pretty much exactly as what you see here at ArimaOwners.com and am very thankful for all of those that participate here and to our team of moderators and particularly Streamfixer. Thank you all.

Without going through an entire history of Arima forums which I first found when it was an MSN group and shortly thereafter, moved to Yuku groups, I was dismayed with the quality of the Yuku forum software and constant ads. The Yuku site was hardly an improvement over the MSN site and the owner had a different vision than what I knew it could become so I went out on my own and here we are.

I started this site with the ArimaBoatOwnersGroup.com domain and a year or two later, changed it to ArimaOwners.com because it was more simple and straight to the point. If you go to ArimaBoatOwnersGroup.com, it forwards you to ArimaOwners.com. Most may not know that and there may be a few that still have that old domain in their favorites list.

Please confirm that your saved link to this site using the ArimaOwners.com domain as I will retire the original domain in the next few weeks. Nothing will change for those that use the ArimaOwners.com domain so unless your saved link is very old, you will never know anything happened. Once retired, the old domain will take you nowhere unless someone else buys it and puts up a porn site of something worse.

Basically, it comes down to an annual savings of $15 and eliminating some nuisance emails that I receive each year.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

I am trying to recall the originals when started:

Seattle Fly Fisher (now Marine40), Wedocq, you, myself, Woody (RIP), Steve Pedery...  I suspect I forgot some....  All banned from the Yuku site within a couple weeks after Christmas 2010.  With hell fire and brimstone called down upon us and dire predictions of failure...

We seem to be doing OK in spite of the predictions.

Merry Christmas to all

Updated my bookmark! Thanks for keeping this site clicking!  I feel welcome, despite having never (yet) owned an Arima.

I was not in the early group but did start at the Yuku site before finding this one.  Clear distinction was evident.

I recruited one guy from the other site named Yat, and for that I humbly apologize

And speaking of $15 savings---  we haven't had a fund raiser for a while    :shrug9:

Merry Christmas to the many members I've met and all those I hope to.

Thanks for all you do keeping the forum up and running!  It's the greatest off the water benefit of owning a Arima boat.

Merry Christmas to all!

Thank you all for a great forum and a great bunch of guys and gals here. I remember in about early 2000's there was a boat dealer in Fremont Ca. called The Boat Dock. They sold Arima and Klamath boats. I remember walking around on a Chaser and getting some quotes but I just couldn't make it happen at that time. Fast forward to now and I finally have the boat I've wanted for years. Great boats, great people that own these boats!

Merry Christmas to all!

Fisherdv, do you know what the closest dealer to the Bay Area is?  I've checked and it looks like maybe on the border of California/Oregon.  Also, is it possible that one day I can loom at your boat?  I was looking at buying a used 16' or 17'.  I can't find any here just to look at.

Funny, but I stumbled across this site and the other one and didn't know they were different...
Bought my 19 in Portland via an ad on one of the sites then bought my 21 in Vancouver BC from an ad on this site.  Love the group of guys on here, what a great place to visit!

Pretty sure I wouldn't have sold my old boat and bought an Arima if is wasn't for this site (and Gary). All the great tips and DIY info made getting the boat set up far less daunting. Thank you all for your wisdom and positive attitudes!

I'm game for any fundraiser as this site has saved me a bunch of time and money. Danno, let us know how we can help!

You guys have done a great job on this site....

As for the other yuk yuk site it has had no new posts since October ...

The amount of post speaks for itself.

I'm in for the fundraiser

I found out about this site when I was on another forum and someone told me about the Arima owners site, and how great and helpful the people are on here, they were 100% right on!
This has to be the best site out there with the greatest members :beerchug:
Thank you Dano and all those that help keep this site a float   :applause:
