Here are some prices at the 2018 Seattle boat show.

Sorry I didn’t get the 21 or 22 the boats were too close together to get a photo of the prices. The 19HT was reduced to around $54,000.

I’m guessing the 17 is with a 70hp and the 19 with a 90hp?

Looks like a Honda 50 for the 16
And Yamaha 75 for the 17
I didn’t notice what was on the 19 sorry. Probably a 90

I'm always surprised at the boat show to see just how much boats cost now a days!  That 19 is within striking distance of my first house- a brick tudor in Ballard!  :hoboy:  And my first new boat was a 15 Tiderunner cuddy for $6,700.  Kinda makes me feel old... and missing the good ol' days.

On the 16 sticker posted it says MAX HP 60, that is not correct. Max HP on the 16 is 100 HP

The price on the 19 is a bit higher than a base model because it includes;

8hp kicker
Kicker bracket
Hydraulic steering
Aft jump seats
Port companion seat
Outboard counter top

I believe the 19 comes with a 115 HP motor

People will be looking back 20 years from now saying...”Gee. I coulda bought an Arima 19’ Sea Chaser for $54,000.”

New/different serial numbering system...  Used to be embedded into the glass on the back of the starboard sponson.  Now it is on a metal tag pop riveted in the same place.  I was trying to figure out how the numbering system works but was unable to.

Using the old system we knew the year and model...  Not so any longer...  With the # pop riveted (or screwed on), Theft just became a LOT less traceable.

Fixer;  Bravo! I'm definitely with you on this.  IMO, this pop-riveted name tag is a jackass idea.  I've posted on this in the past; hoping Arima might see the light on this one.  This is one of these changes-for-the-sake-of-change that does nothing but put a strain on the security of one's property.  That's gotta go!

It is easy enough to router out the numbers embossed into the hull and patch/gelcoat over.

I thought they also hide numbers inside the boat somewhere? ....guess they wouldn’t tell us that ?

My last trailer has a paper sticker.

Anybody else notice the flyers show  the same length for the 16 and 17 ranger?

I was under the impression that the 16 was 15'11" bow to transom and closer to 17 from. Bow to the back of the sponsors.  Does that mean the 17 is actually close to 18 for true LOA?

Also, seems like a crazy jump in price from the 16 to 17.

Bill;  I took a careful measurement on my 16.  Mine is 15'-11" from the farthest point of the sponsons to the glass at the nose (not including the rubrail at the nose).

Then add another 30% for electronics, some must have options, maximum HP and WA sales tax and your paying $60K plus for a 19 Chaser with a soft top!   On sale!!!    Wow..

Got to meet Don today and pick his brain on a few items. He is a walking encyclopedia.  Calm, cool and smart.  I was trying to use osmosis to gather some of that. Problem is I forgot what we were talking about 15 minutes afterwards.

Interesting... The 2018 Sea Chaser 19 is listed at $40,095 on the Defiance website with a Honda 115. Boat show “sale price” doesn’t look so good after all!

The listed price for the SC17 is comparable.

AlexB, the boat show price for the 19 shows added options. See my post a few up. That’s why it’s more at the show. If your interested I would order straight through Defiance. You can even get the boat delivered to your door :twocents:

Well I’m definitely interested, but I don’t have the funds available right at the moment. I’m hoping to secure a “zero interest” loan from my dad when I move back to the family home in a couple/few years. I should be able to rent out our place in Oakland to cover its mortgage, then live more or less rent/mortgage free in my Sebastopol stomping grounds. That’ll free up some funds for boat payments, etc.

It’s still a ways out, but I am leaning toward buying new versus diving into the stressful, super-competitive used market. I also like the idea of knowing exactly how everything has been treated and maintained from day 1.

Did miss something on the 19' SC show sticker? I did not see on the sticker a "main" was included with that sale.

Headduck back in the day there was an additional tax levied by WN state on boats 18’ and larger, thus the 17’11” thing.  However, not sure about the details or if the tax is still in effect.

I just saw on Craigslist that Jacobsens has a 19 chaser for 34k.  Seems like a really good price or a mistake.

They have a few last year floor models discounted nicely.  A 19' SR Skip as I remember at $44 w Yami 115.  Wasn't paying attn to Chasers, so not sure if that's the same situation or not.  They seem legit and Tom's been straight with me.
