Title: Garmin pricing
Post by: davidsea on March 28, 2024, 12:12:27 AM
If you've been thinking about a Garmin UHD 74/94/104, you should snap up whatever you can find at current prices.  The $300 deal at WM is long gone, but there are still some out there.   The 'new and improved' UHD2 versions are out, and prices seem to be $200-$400+ higher than the current ones.  The new ones may be worth the extra $, but they're no longer what I'd call a bargain. My 94 has been flawless over 2+ years.

That was a hell of a deal and my buddy that bought my SC17 got that $300 Garmin. He called all the local to us WM's and they were all sold out, except for one WM that was 50 miles away that had 3 left. They wouldn't let you buy online and pick up in the store and they wouldn't hold it. He drove out there crossing his fingers and when he got there, he got the last one.

Bass Pro Shops have the Garmin UHD 74sv with the GT54 Transducer on clearance for $350.  A little more than the WM deal but still pretty good.

$350 seems like a good value. I recently installed a UHD2 94SV with GT56 transducer , I paid $1,299.99 at Best buy. It's a great unit, I don't know if it's $950 better though.

WM had the UHD 74SV on sale again this morning. $399 since I was in town this time around I was able to score one.

I have that one (almost).  I like it.  The only difference (where I think you did better) is that mine was the 73 version.  Your 74 comes with the saltwater/bay charts.  My 73 came with the LakeVue lake charts.  I had to pay extra for a subscription to get the saltwater charts.

That UHDV74 Garmin just came out in WM's blanket email post this morning at $399, so they got some more but probably won't last long.

Is this unit radar ready, I am not seeing that?
How is it in comparison to the older 741 unit that some have and liked?

Doesn't support Radar or Navionics.

I have Garmin Navionics Vision+ installed on my UHD 94sv. The relief shading alone made it a no brainer purchase for me.

I think the transducer alone runs around $250.
