Fry Offline Posts: 22 | April 27, 2012, 12:54:01 AM Haaaa. Well the cost was about $18,000.00 for the project. But a new Sea Hunter is about that stripped out with a 50 hp motor. Mine has everything to include the full electronics package of Humminbird 998-C GPS/Sonar and the Standard Horizon AIS radio, stereo and so on, 2 Scotty electric down riggers, and other really nice appointments like the line-X interior, Honda 75 4 stroke EFI, full canvas, all stainless hardware, HDPE to replace all the funky wood interior panels and way too much more to list. The boat is really better than new in so many ways, and clean as a show car whilst stored in doors. The new trim tabs really made the difference in handling. What a wonderful small runabout! I love the Honda 75! Its power and quality is fantastic. I really can't begin to say how well this venture came out for me. I had a ball, and learned a lot about a lot of stuff. Chiefly fiberglass and gel coat. The boat is a little dream, easy to wash up inside and out after a day of crashing through the salt chuck and has big boat features. It took me a year to the day to finish the restoration. I then did the sea trial and found the trim was an issue with a passenger. By myself, it was OK but if I had a person in the passenger seat, we rolled too far to port at higher speeds which is a function of torq roll. So I then added the Bennett Sport-Tabs.
