Called the guys at letter rite, the folks who do the decals for ArIma, among others.

Got a quote for the old school gold and black decals. Price drops significantly with an increased number of orders due to set up etc.

Also there was interest on a previous thread.

So, I can order and then send out via mail. You pay for the decal plus mail cost to my paypal, check or other reasonable method. Pm if interested.

Cost breakdown and image below. (Collective numbers, not per individual. So if we as a group buy 25 sets, each set is $20.)

1 set        $100.00 each
2 sets        $75.00 each
3 sets        $65.00 each
5 sets        $50.00 each
10 sets      $35.00 each
25 sets      $20.00 each
50 sets      $15.00 each

Those prices seem reasonable. I think I paid around $70 for two stickers.  Then the guy gave me two more for free.  (i provided the vector art)

Most people are surprised how expensive those stickers are.

I was surprised as well...it's all about the number to offset setup costs...they become quite reasonable with just a modest increase in quantity...

new decals, a rub rail and bit of #49 and wax, you'll be looking sharp...

myself and another are in so far...

...at the $75 price point and dropping...

Are those prices for each decal or for each set?

If they are for a set I'll take a set.

Put me down for a set, the stickers on my boat are mostly gone.  Just out of curiosity, mine appear to be blueish (1992), they aren't the current logo with the wave, and they aren't the ones you are having made, does anyone have a history of all of the logo stickers and what years they were used?

Just for curiosity and comparison I sent the decal logo to the place in town where I get a lot of aircraft decals made and got a $30/plus tax quote for a pair. That's Cnd.dollars!

Gotta say, that's a pretty good deal. I guess since the artwork was done, cost may be reduced. Or not.

These folks make the decals for Arima, others and some outboard manufacturers but don't understand the process well enough to know what can chnage from shop to shop...quality of vinyl, screen print or otherwise.

Can you ask them how it can be so inexpensive for a one-off?

Thanks,
ed

Justin,

Another member, Hunter had some decals made of the vintage I think you are referencing. A quick search should reveal the thread...he actually started all of this...

I think the price for these stickers are really cheap, even for the one off is a good deal. I can see this shop pretty much makes all of the expensive stuff in house and I believe that's the reason for a decent price. I worked in a major print shop here in LA for 12 years doing printing and estimating.  It's a pretty good deal.

But anyway heres my :twocents: here's some boring reasons why printing stickers can get expensive, especially for a one off.

In a nut shell for something being put together from scratch...
The costs would include making new screens, film, custom mix ink, laminate, dies for cutting out the image, vinyl adhesive sheets, computer set up charges, workers, packing, shipping, etc. just to name a few costs.

Headduck,

I'll take a pair if you're able to figure out the Canadian thing. I can mail you a USD money order and add a copy extra bucks to cover the mailing cost.

Thanks.

1RV4 can sort out the Canadian deal please contact him and let me know if you're out.

I reached out to the folks that make decals for Arima. Can't vouch for the others. Not my contact. Not my deal...

Currently at 12 sets, not counting Puravida 3.

That's $35 a set. Plus tax and shipping. Will continue to take requests.

Honestly it's inappropriate to take somebody else's art work and pimp it around town to find a cheaper price. Start at zero and make the competition fair.

Cheers,

Ed
