Called the guys at letter rite, the folks who do the decals for ArIma, among others.
Got a quote for the old school gold and black decals. Price drops significantly with an increased number of orders due to set up etc.
Also there was interest on a previous thread.
So, I can order and then send out via mail. You pay for the decal plus mail cost to my paypal, check or other reasonable method. Pm if interested.
Cost breakdown and image below. (Collective numbers, not per individual. So if we as a group buy 25 sets, each set is $20.)
1 set $100.00 each
2 sets $75.00 each
3 sets $65.00 each
5 sets $50.00 each
10 sets $35.00 each
25 sets $20.00 each
50 sets $15.00 each
:anyone:
I wont be making a penny, just trying to save a few...could pick them up in downtown Seattle as well...
Those prices seem reasonable. I think I paid around $70 for two stickers. Then the guy gave me two more for free. (i provided the vector art)
Most people are surprised how expensive those stickers are.
I was surprised as well...it's all about the number to offset setup costs...they become quite reasonable with just a modest increase in quantity...
new decals, a rub rail and bit of #49 and wax, you'll be looking sharp...
myself and another are in so far...
...at the $75 price point and dropping...
PM sent.

Now you're getting some response !!
6 down 4 to go for the sweet deal...don't care how you pay...send a check, or pay me directly...or whatever is good for you...
Willing to work with you, as long as it's reasonable.
Thanks Croaker.
Pm sent :smile1:
Are those prices for each decal or for each set?
If they are for a set I'll take a set.
For a set (a pair).
I'll count you in...will let it run a couple/three days and then place the order, pick up and distribute.
Mark makes 7...
Thanks guys,
Ed
Unless you're in a hurry I'd give it a week- those price drops are nice.
Can do. Folks might double up (buy a spare set) if we get to $20 per...I know I would.
me too.
Put me down for a set, the stickers on my boat are mostly gone. Just out of curiosity, mine appear to be blueish (1992), they aren't the current logo with the wave, and they aren't the ones you are having made, does anyone have a history of all of the logo stickers and what years they were used?
-Justin
Just for curiosity and comparison I sent the decal logo to the place in town where I get a lot of aircraft decals made and got a $30/plus tax quote for a pair. That's Cnd.dollars!
Chris
That sounds like a very good price ... Put me down for a pair ! Thanks for doing the foot work on these ...
OD
Gotta say, that's a pretty good deal. I guess since the artwork was done, cost may be reduced. Or not.
These folks make the decals for Arima, others and some outboard manufacturers but don't understand the process well enough to know what can chnage from shop to shop...quality of vinyl, screen print or otherwise.
Can you ask them how it can be so inexpensive for a one-off?
Thanks,
ed
Justin,
Another member, Hunter had some decals made of the vintage I think you are referencing. A quick search should reveal the thread...he actually started all of this...
Ed
I would be interested in a set!
We are sitting at 10...and counting
Not sure what to do about Canadian connection.

I think the price for these stickers are really cheap, even for the one off is a good deal. I can see this shop pretty much makes all of the expensive stuff in house and I believe that's the reason for a decent price. I worked in a major print shop here in LA for 12 years doing printing and estimating. It's a pretty good deal.
But anyway heres my :twocents: here's some boring reasons why printing stickers can get expensive, especially for a one off.
In a nut shell for something being put together from scratch...
The costs would include making new screens, film, custom mix ink, laminate, dies for cutting out the image, vinyl adhesive sheets, computer set up charges, workers, packing, shipping, etc. just to name a few costs.
I'm good for a set.
Headduck,
I'll take a pair if you're able to figure out the Canadian thing. I can mail you a USD money order and add a copy extra bucks to cover the mailing cost.
Thanks.
1RV4 can sort out the Canadian deal please contact him and let me know if you're out.
I reached out to the folks that make decals for Arima. Can't vouch for the others. Not my contact. Not my deal...
Currently at 12 sets, not counting Puravida 3.
That's $35 a set. Plus tax and shipping. Will continue to take requests.
Honestly it's inappropriate to take somebody else's art work and pimp it around town to find a cheaper price. Start at zero and make the competition fair.
Cheers,
Ed
Count on me for set # 25 ($20)
I would like to get it on a set for Sea Chaser and 19 if anyone has such inclinations.
StreamFixer
Sorry Mr. Headduck
I didn't mean to stir up anything, just information only I'm still with you on the group purchase to keep the price down,-------if I'm still allowed.
Chris
I like the look of those. I'll take a set.
I would've interested in getting a set for my 1988 sea chaser. Let me know how and when to pay

Count me in for a set :applause:
Everybody is allowed, and no hard feelings for sure.
Hopefully we can get to 25 sets.
Keep requests coming please. Will send a tally out at the end of the week.
Okay, count me in at 25 or better. Even if you come up a couple short buying the extra sets still drops the price, averaged out, for everybody.
You can be # 24 :hoboy:

Please put me down for a second set, I have a friend here at work that has an Arima and helped me buy my boat that I'd like to give them to.
-Justin
So folks, this is what is currently on my boat and I haven't seen it in my travels through the internet pictures. Which Arima logo is this? Doesn't seem to the the gold and black and doesn't seem to be either of the ones with the wave...
Rookie mistake on the upside down, the boat is still upright!, gallery doesn't seem to want to let me rotate it...

That's the one I have too......and mine's a 1996 model SR19.
Will get a count out later...
Just as an aside to this thread, I can vouch for the quality of the product from Letter Rite. This is much more than a "stick-on". It's a professionally applied decal with double side release tape and the kit comes with full instructions, applicator fluid, squeegee..... etc.
We did the other "old Style logo" and paid $100 for the set from Letter Rite and we are totally happy.
That's the style I have on my boat currently. Am I gonna mess with the "Mojo" if I switch to the decal design in this group buy?
What the heck, most people spend that on coffee or cigarettes each day. I don't do either, so put me down for a set. Thank you for your efforts. At the rate we will have orders for 50. Fishjager

Really we only need a couple more. I will by 2 at 20 each. Markshoreline as well. (Then we are at 21) Then we need 2 more (23) and StreamFixer and La Z are in (25) ...then we all get to $20 per... Puravida? Cheaper than Canada...?
Anybody else want 2 for 40 rather than 1 for 35? Or...or 1 for 20??
Clear as mud?
ed
I have been on the sidlines waiting to see how many will order.
I need a new set for mine but like Russ and LZB
I'll order if we get to 25 or better.
Otherwise my buddy is willing to airbrush the design on for me.
Sticking new decals on my old boat would be like putting a silk dress on a pig. Still I might do it for $20. But then I would have to clean up my act some, maybe give her a paint job. But then my old outboards would look rough. :shrug9:
Im in for a set
Okay, I'm in for good and if you need another set to reach the magic number I'll do that also. Someone down the line will want a set at some point.
Pigs like silk and a bit of lipstick. Everybody likes to feel perty everyone in a while. Not sure if you were saying you were in or still lamenting Sea Bear..? It may be a life altering catalyst..
Thanks La Z.
I think you missed me.

Gotcha now Jeff.
Thanks Mark, will send out a group pm/email.
Will sort out shipping cost and let all know. Picking could be an option if you are near.

Also, talked more with the decal folks and Hunter. The folks we are dealing with ship the sticker only. The folks that did Hunters sea Legend 22 decal provided the bonus items.
At $20 a decal (set) we are getting a pretty fair shake. Just wanted to make sure all as transparent.

Thanks! PM sent. As Jack Burton would say "Checks in the Mail"
Will send paypal info in a pm to those who prefer that route.
There is a cost to using Paypal. Seems unfair for Heddock to do all this work and pay the Paypal cost as well. Just sayin. :shrug9:
Paypal is the best way to go for me. Add the fee to my bill.
Paypal let me send the money to "family or friends" with no fees. :twocents:

I sent pms to,I believe, all of the interested folks. If you did not get the message please let me know.

Thanks Ed, check is on the way for 2 pair. I appreciate the effort!

Thanks to those who have sent the funds thus far.

Thanks for the patience.
Keep sending in the funds, we are nowhere near the number of folks who committed.
Thanks.

Perhaps if you posted a list of those that have paid... :shrug9:
Its those who haven't paid I amost concerned with...will wait a couple more days and then send abother reminder to folks. They may have missed it in their inbox. :shrug9:
I'm assuming that I have paid via paypal Ed... So I can add that the whole point of doing the group buy was to get a discount for all... So I'm hoping everyone comes through. And thanks to you for doing all the screwing around necessary to get us all a good deal on these.
Hi All,
Sorry for the delay. I will post an update this evening regarding who has paid thus far.
Thanks for the cooperation and patience.
Ed
Received all the folks who sent by paypal or at least indicated they had done so.
Also have the majority of sent by mail...Still waiting for USPS to catch up.
Grand total so far.........18 decal sets.
Those who haven't sent funds...you know who you are. I wont resort to public shaming yet...
Thanks Y'all.
Public shaming to come soon. :stirthepot:
Not really, but could use a few more commits...
Thanks guys,

Thanks HD got mine here in Virginia today. I was hoping it had the wave too but alas no. Trying to cover up previous owner dock rash. You are the man for your efforts for this group buy. Now more sanding and buffing.
Sorry no wave...went all the way old school...pre waves...
Amazing that some of the checks took soooo long to show, but the decals were delivered quickly...
I will be buffing and polishing as well.

Got them yesterday--Hope I didn't ruffle your feathers earlier!
Had a stack of 6 returned envelopes on my desk. Sent them out today...again...6 of the 30 were deemed to be oversized by the USPS...all are standard evelopes and i followed instructions from the guy behind the counter...don't know how the remainder snuck through but it seems lIke I'm stickin' it to the man...one decal set at a time.
Will let you know if they are returned once more...
Thanks again for the patience.

The waiting game sure does stink.

Ed
Ed,
I received mine today but with postage due of $1.33, no big deal and they do look good so when I refinish the sides this winter she will look original.
Thanks
Tim
Stickers arrived while I was away fishing with BBQJohn. I mentioned I was getting them, he looked as his sorry-a$$ stickers and began begging.... Since he put fish in my hands, and Mine are in pretty good shape so I suspect he will get to spruce up his old girl a bit...
StreamFixer
Thanks for the heads up Tim...sorry about the extra 1.33.
Curious did they hold it hostage for the 1.33? Did the mailman ask?
Literally 20+ of the exact same package went out with stamps as directed by the dude behind the counter...and were delivered without a hitch...
hopefully they all made it and we conclude this process and get 'em on our boats. :)
Way to pass on the love Fixer.
Thinking I should have bought a few extra sets...
I would be interested in a pair of you are still looking for people. The decals on my boat Re looking rough after 31 years.
Put mine on today.
Looks good Jim!
Looks great.
I hope everyone bought 2 sets to replace these in 20 years!
I bought a set because I am going to repair dock gouges made by previous owners of my boat soon and then paint the "Arima stripe" in navy blue, add the decals and new registration decals in white and then clear coat so the paint and decals will be more protected.
if I am still around in 20 years I bet they will still look good. I am having my local sign shop re-make the "Seattle U.S.A. in gold so they show up on the navy blue.
