I want to set up my 17 ft Arima Seachaser for an anchoring system to fish for springers and sturgeon on the Columbia River. I would appreciate any input from those who have set up their boats for this type of anchor system. Thank you very much.

Years ago Woody posted a good 'How To' thread for rigging an anchor system for the Columbia.  I have found it to work well since...

I am sure you can find it if you look and are really interested.

amazing grace

I am thinking of buying an Anchor caddy nest for my SE. But I will need to remove a cleat and anchor light to do so. So put on hold for now and am re-evaluating.    It will make a great set up for a columbia river anchor system.

Good thread here...

Anchoring in swift current is the achilles heel of Arima's, due to the bow access issue on the larger hulls (well, unless you have a Sea Pacer).  The systems discussed in that thread will get you a workable, pretty safe solution, but you will never be able to anchor in a hog line with the same precision as an open bow boat.
