Sand dabs work well down here too.

Fishing Reports & Tips / Puget Sound Ling Cod
Last post by Hunter - Today at 05:25:12 PM
Spent the day today Lingcod fishing up in the North Puget Sound (8-2) catching smalls and bigs and FINALLY got a descent 35 incher that was in the "slot". One fish per day.  The regs for this area have a min 26in and a max 36in.   And boy can I tell ya'all how flipp'n hard it is to release a nice 45in ling cod!   Anyway, it's tempura fish and chips for dinner tonight.

PS..... I use live sand dabs on a halibut rig when hook and line fishing....

PSPS.....  Next week opens up a 3 week spearfishing season here in the Sound and I can't wait!!!

Well I was wanting a yamaha kicker to try and match my main but I found a good deal on a 2014 mercury 9.9hp four stoke with low use so I picked it up! Now I just need to find a deal on a electric scotty downrigger and I'll be set! The boat is already wired for scotty's.

I was given a 93 1511 Sea Chaser with a 1998(?) Honda 50 outboard by my son-in-law.  It was given to him several years ago and had been just sitting in his field wasting away.  I had a 26' Striper for several years until I decided to sell so that I could retire someday.  I've been retired for 7 years now and live near a reservoir so I'm back to being a boat owner again.
So as you can imagine, there are several parts being replaced.  The motor trim/tilt did not work until I tapped it with a hammer and then just barely.  I took the motor off and apart and found that one of the brushes springs was missing.  I cleaned everything up, installed a new spring and put everything back together.  Now the motor runs great but the tilt does nothing.  Of course it will still go down when I release the bleeder valve, but wont go up or down with the motor.  It's full of fluid so that's not the problem.
The only thing that comes to mind is that little hex drive looking thing that goes in the end of the motor armature shaft.  I was careful to make sure it was in place when I was trying to put the motor armature in place between the brushes.  It took me three tries before I got the armature to seat properly so I'm wondering if that little hex fitting fell out.  Not sure where it would go or even if the armature would have seated properly if that hex fitting was not in its proper place.
I'm hoping that someone out there has had this same problem/experience and can give me some guidance.

Thanks!

No shortage of shrimp today either in A12.  Less rain than expected too.  Pulled 2 pots, 40, 60.  Reset one pot and counted out a limot. Third pot was 160.  Counted them all then pulled pot #4 and the reset pot to finish the last of our 4 llimit.  Dumped at least a limit back.

I did find a really nice one $$$$ made for Harleys.  They are Stainless Steel so would work for a boat.
