I have prepared the attached PDF to help answer some of the more common marine DC wiring basics for folks choosing to tackle this type of project.  It is by no means comprehensive, just a primer level document.  Kind of like the Dick and Jane books us older folks learned to read from.

I hope it provides an improved level of comfort for folks considering an electrical project.

Nice job Russ that is great info for guys starting out fixing their electrical issues the first time on how to do it right.

Thanks Streamfixer I will be needing that, my electrical knowledge is limited.

Russ, I didn't realize you know all that... very impressive!  Thanks for taking the time to assemble that info for all of us to reference when doing our projects.

I recall seeing some other excellent pieces written by other members some including diagrams and drawings.  What to you think of somehow attaching them in this post?  Any ideas on how to do that?

Outstanding article.  My wiring knowledge continues to grow with information of this nature.  Thank you.

Heres a good website I found that goes in depth on how to make a good wire crimp and why not to use cheap crimpers and terminals:

There is a lot of other good marine electical articles too.
