Title: Donations to Support ArimaOwners.com
Post by: Danno on April 28, 2020, 11:19:18 AM
I want to thank everyone that donated money to help keep this site ad free and to support upgrades. By my records, $610 has been donated. by the following people: GregE, Croaker Stroker, Hunter, Disposable, OhMyTodd, DavidSea, jamaica, Devmah, Eelkram, Grilse, Pdxmgunner, SoCalAngler, Wiley, markshoreline, xranger and Jeremey (I don't know Jeremey's handle).

If you donated and I did not send you a personal PM or email acknowledging your donation, please contact me so I can make sure it didn't get lost in the mail or via Paypal.

There were three donations of $100 and many in the $20 to $30 range. Thank you all.

The migration is mostly done. I still need to move the actual name ArimaOwners.com over and then pay up the web hosting and domain name fees for three years so that will take the monthly fee from $7.95/mo to $4.95/mo saving $108 and spending $178. This includes 20GB of storage which is double what was secured at GoDaddy. The domain fee is another $30.

I have spent $70 on a couple of mods to improve the Gallery function and allow me to adjust and add menu items. I have other mods I'm looking at as well to upgrade the forum.

Thank you all again,

-Danno

Since the expenses of running and upgrading the site are ongoing, I expect donating will be at least an annual event or more often as circumstances require.  I'm sure most of our users are with me on this.

I must have missed the request and how to donate. Maybe you could post that again.

Danno, not sure if you got my pm about my donation  So maybe the $610 is a tiny bit low by at least one donation :beerchug:

I agree Dan let us know when you are running low on funds, we appreciate all the time you spend to keep this site up and running smoothly...
The least we can do it keep it funded and free of ad's.

Thanks everyone. Due to the generosity of many, we're set for quite a while. In September, I'll be re-upping the various items for three years out and there's plenty left in the kitty for additional upgrades.

I am a bit busy these days so I haven't worked on the forum much lately. Upgrades to my Arima and fishing and a new pup that is high energy and demands attention. Ugh. What a stupid decision on the pup. But he is cute.

He really is cute and those feet look like he's going to be a horse!  My wife wants a pup when our geriatric cat croaks but I can't imagine taking care of one...

Our pup rescue was a real chore for me for about a year. I mean a real chore. He came close to being a victim of an accident on the homestead a few times. But he survived and so did I. The reward for all that work is he is a real great dog now. You are just getting started Danno.  :1zhelp:

That was at 3 months old. We were the mom was pure bred German Shepard and the sire was unknown. We got her at the Orange County German Shepard Rescue. One of the other adopters had a DNA test done on their pup. Here are the results:

He looks like he Belgian Malinois.

All

It has been a while since we last donated to the site...

Arima Owners offers a lot of good support to the members and is hosted free by the moderators.

No one here is making any $$ of this site as the moderators/supporting members do all of this on their own time.

I ask if you can donate please do and contact Danno. This site is one of the best and is advertising free.

Danno:  If you need help with the financing of this site, just PM me. No reason why you should carry this alone. I can do PayPal if that works. Thanks for all you do.

Instead of having Danno pm us I think it would be best if he puts up the payment link and how much is needed and when the goal is reached.

This site is really useful so I'm sure we can get it funded asap.

Great looking Dog Danno.

We had a Belgian Malinois/ Husky Mix......best dog I have ever owned.
Frank was his name,  due to his blue eyes.

Frank lived to be 15 on my wife's home cooked food.
Very high energy,  always needed a job.  He was fiercely loyal to his family.
Yet amazingly gentle with kids.

We miss that boy!

Thanks GT and everyone. I won't monetize the ArimaOwners site because I don't want it to become a target for fraud or IRS review (is there a difference?).

We are at about 80% of our storage space so I will have to increase it which will cost a bit more and my annual renewal is coming up in September. I'll get back to you all and provide an update. I don't expect to need anything though.

Thank you so much!
