89 SR17 Wiper motor shaft length

Been on the hunt for the right wiper motor for my 89 SR17.  I've found lots of info here but can't seem to find what length/diameter shaft is correct.

Should it be 2.5" shaft instead?

Just don't want to start drilling holes if I don't have the right tools on hand.

1.5" shaft is correct length and that wiper arm is correct.

That's not the unit that came with the 89 SR.  It may be able to be retrofit but you will need to drill some new holes.

And this is why I was unclear of the shaft length.  My SR didn't come with installed wipers so this will be new holes in the boat.  Still curious which is correct....

I just took the wiper motor off my 89 '17 SR last month and here is a picture.  i am going to replace it with something similar to what you show... however i think it will require 2.5 inch shaft lenght

The  AFI 34011 recommended by Belinda  are 1.5" shaft. I am using them on my Chaser.

Belinda says 2.5" should be correct.  I'll report back once installed....fingers crossed

Weird mine are 1.5" and work well. 2 5" will likely work however wiper arm angle will be increased.

Do you have pantographic?  Maybe that makes the difference?

I need to replace my wiper motor as well.  I assume the same motors are used on the 17 and 19SR as I have a 19.  What's the difference between the  AFI 34011 and the one that Tomo has in his post?  My motor looks like the one in the picture from Tomo.

The difference is the mounting and that the AFI 34011 is a dual speed motor, most of the time we jut wire it as a one speed (only use the low speed). You will need to measure your thickness of the mounting hole and that will tell you what you need for shaft size.

I already have just the standard wipers I want to upgrade to the pantographic wiper arms...gives more viewing area...
