Regarding selling your motor... the person who bought my used motor wasn't local, but videos of a cold start on muffs and a hole shot and cruising on the river, gave him the confidence to pull the trigger and make the drive to have it mounted on his boat as it came off mine.

Not to take anything away from Davidsea. Because he is a very knowledgeable member. But virtually every repower thread makes it a point to mention the dealer is the most important component of a repower.

I am looking for a new 90 hp outboard for my 17' Arima. I would need it installed and some credit for the good running 2004 ETEC that is on it right now. Need new controls and gauges as well.

I have the same motor, I am 3rd owner I only have put about 100 hours on it myself, use kicker mostly, have you had any issues with your e-Tec? How many hours?

Not sure how many hours. Last time I got a readout it was 755 hrs. I'm sure I have over 1000 hours by now. 

I had to replace the EMM a couple of years ago ($1300), other than that, it has been a very dependable motor.

The ETEC was very efficient. However, I don't worry too much about fuel efficiency, so I do not have any data to compare....except it takes 9 to 12 gallons for me to go fishing.

@croaker stoker, I just did what you are planning on doing. Repowered from 2000 Yamaha 115 4-stroke (for sale now), to 2023 90hp max sho. Just got it on water last week and still fine tuning prop selection now. Tried taking 4blade 13x15 but they didn't fit well. Just installed 13x19 and can't wait to get back on water to test. The SHO is noticeably quieter!
