This is a spin-off from another thread. So we don't get to insert an opening post. Topic is self explanatory. There is a rumor circulating that 3WT will buy a beer for the person offering the name chosen, every time they meet... Just a rumor mind you.
Also Kathryn has the final say on the name chosen, no appealing her decision :hoboy:

Ok so I am going to nominate the same name as I did for the truck! Clifford!
I got it! If you don't like "Lady H" how about "FISHFIRE" ? :smile1:
Yat
Pretty slick setup there 3 wt.
Congrats
As far as the name goes
( bloodbath)
( ruby red)
Just a few ideas
Threeweight:
If you find yourself mistreated on this Forum, you could call it "Redheaded Stepchild".
That is such a beautiful boat. I'm sure it will serve you well. :beerchug:
MEGA BOSS!
RED SKY ? METALFISH? Okay, now I'm gettin' crazy.
I'm still hoping that you haven't discarded the "Red Herring" idea, that's a great name!
OR 'I used to have an Arima '
StreamFixer
Congratulations on the new boat!!
"IN Between"
Since your final boat will probably be another Arima, I think "SECOND 2 LAST" might be good.

Katfish
KATFISH? I hate to admit it Croaker, but I think you've got the name. Dammit! I wanted to be the one.
Oh Yat. If it were only that easy. Methinks this will be a long and arduous process. :stooges:
"Red Rover"
Katherine will apparently get the final say
A few I have thought of:
Cabezon
Ramble On
Red Delicious
Rogue
Badfish
Hellcat
Red Devil
"Tomato Soup"
Red Whine
Cab is On
Sheri and I had a 1977 31ft Silverton named Cabezon...
Urban Dictionary: Cabezon www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term= Cabezon - A Spanish word used to describe someone who is stubborn, big-headed, being ditzy, said or did something kinda dumb or who has crazy big hair!
Or......maybe you can do a take-off on Ricks idea and call it.... "Aluma Therapy"

Oh if its Red Devil I totally get to go out on it.

Reddie 4 Fish or Reddie 2 Fish
Bait Boy - because we know who's really the captain
How about: "SUNKISS" ..............Not macho enough? (I'd ask Mrs. Threeweight)
How about a Japanese name? Could be simply called "MIZU", which means water. Or, "MIZU NEZUMI" which would be "Water Rat". :smile1:
Yat
Or Akai Kinzoku which means Red Metal or Akai Maru which essentially means red ship.
Katherine just came up with Red Pepper, Paprika, and Cayenne.
3wt, this is too easy:
Cazart!
You're welcome.
Threeweight:
If I have to pick from Katherine's choices, my vote is for Cayenne.

What Dave is trying to say is don't choose a name that sounds like "MAY DAY" when said 3 times fast. Which is a very fair point.
Using "the" in front of "Maddy A" and saying it slowly no longer sounds like "Mayday". Fortunately I realized the problem fairly early on and made the adjustment.
Thanks Wedo, I should have given this explanation in the first post.

A friend with terrible taste in liquor suggested "Fireball."

Fireball is good for really cold weather. It has Anti-Freeze mixed in it.

Yes.........and Threeweight, if you decide to name your new boat Fireball, don't forget to include a picture of that red creature on the side as well.
Cinnamon candy is one of my favorite. (I am ashamed to say..I like the Fireball Whisky too)

As I contemplate this arduous thread sipping a glass of Bordeaux blend, the previous mention of Red Whine got me thinking of wines themes. I am hoping Katherine is more a wine fan than beer or mead.

Red Hawg Rising

Doctor:
Katheter?.................KATHETER?? :bigshock: I've got a feeling there's a "certain" woman out there (not gonna mention any names) who might take issue with that one. Let's put it this way: If that name ever happened to find it's way on that boat, that "certain" woman might get a "catheter" of her own and then go looking for a "certain" doctor. Once found, that woman might then be looking for a certain orifice into which she may contemplate placing said catheter. Then..............oh well.........you get the idea, right? :jester:

Checked in with Northwest Marine today... still no ETA on when rigging will be done. For my rocket launchers, their metal fab guy is going to need to do some work, and they apparently sold a ton of boats w/ the boat shows.
We will probably wait till we have a few hours running the boat before settling on a final name for it. My favorites right now are "Red Hot" and "Radio Flyer," Katherine likes "Dragonfly" and "Spitfire".

Any ideas on where to get a decal made for my boats name?
I have never heard of someone shot in the hear walking about 2 metres forward after being shot. And firing, while gripping, a pistol. Usually a fairly flacid crumple right after impact, unless it was a Desert EAgle (50 cal) then impact might take them backwards a foot or so.

I had my boat name made at Fast Signs. You can custom pick you colors and font. And have them in about 24 hours at a competitive price.

Very nice boat TW  . Always thought Hewes made nice looking boats.
I like the swim ladder at the back. Will be handy at the house also. I've got a three step stool just to get in and out of the Arima at home :hoboy: .
what Steve No back door for those huge bluefins?....

What a sweet PNW boat!
So...... with the "bracket".... what is the total official length of the new rig?? Reason I ask is that I think there are some boat length restrictions that can be tied to some bar crossings depending on conditions. I've heard that some folks with brackets (hull extensions) have been able to have the CC reclassify them so that you have more options to decide for you what's best for you.
225 looks huge in that pic!
WOW! Very nice. There's some weight back there man! If I'm not mistaken, it looks like that motor bracket is even with the bottom of the boat..........almost like a continuation of the hull? If that's the case, I imagine it should offer a bit of additional buoyancy for those motors. Can't wait to see a side shot of that baby sitting in the water.
The bracket is a full hull extension on the Ocean Pro... the 2016 hull's are 24'8" overall, and register that way w/ the Marine Board as a 24' boat.
Ordering electronics tonight... Katherine is lobbying for a heater instead of radar :shrug9: Picked up some rigging at nice prices at the boat show... have a very nice Miller Marine anchor nest waiting to go on the nose.
Re: needing a walk through transom... I kind of wish it did. For vertically challenged folks, it is quite a "straddle" getting over the thing. On the other hand, there is a giant insulated fish box in the transom. Room for at least a dozen Tuna!, with room for 8 or 10 more in the in-floor box.
Nice Boat!!

You gotta get the heater. My wife is so happy with the heater in our new truck. (Even though the temps are in the 80's down here). She likes to have the heater just in case it gets cold someday. :shrug9:
Besides, the fog seldom takes you by surprise. And if it does, she could help you navigate by standing on the bow with a flashlight and hand-held fog horn. :shrug9:
My neighbor has a tin can with the full length hull that becomes a bracket- I've always admired that design for the elimination of the splashwell and the additional buoyancy provided by the bracket. Very nice boat I'm sure you'll kill a lot of fish. BTW, yes on the radar and heater. You want to be safe, and if momma's not happy....
Looking sharp! As for name's, I suggest the H.S. Thompson. :cha:
So, where are you keeping that BIG bad boy?
For now, a friends place in Newberg. On the waiting list for covered storage in Scappoose, a mile or two from the marina. We are planning to cash out of the Portland real estate market next year, and relocate to Scappoose/St. Helens area.
The boat will fit in my driveway (I think)... but the truck will have to be parked on the street when it's home.
Just ordered electronics... I'm going to have to get a buddy to drill the first holes in the brand new boat
Have drill, (and a bunch of bits) Will Travel

Ordered electronics last night... going with a Raymarine A98 with the basic chirp CPT-100 transducer, and the Ray 18" open array radar. Was tempted to wait on the new Quantum radar, but the open array was $400 less and is in stock right now.

Wondering why you're going with the open array vs the radome? Either way, a good choice with the Raymarine gear IMO! Have fun with the rigging!

Wrong terminology on my part... going with the RD418D radome (though the open arrays have a huge rebate on them right now).
What's all this talk about drilling. Let's light a torch probably a quicker way to make holes in somebody else's boat. I bet Steve tapes cardboard facsimiles everywhere and tapes drill holes in place before he starts drilling. Good luck with that measure twice cut once stuff. When I screw up it usually becomes a spot for a cupholder or mix up some thickened epoxy time.
Just take your boat over Bruce's to fix all the holes you didn't mean to drill!
