Hi, I am looking at a 1988 Arima Sea Ranger which the owner swears is a 16'. The boat model is labelled as Sea Ranger. Did they make a 16' Sea Ranger back then? I can find no documentation or information online. thanks!
Ask for the hull number

AMISR6121788
AMI is Arima
88 is production year
17 is hull length I believe. No 16 SRs
Looks like it's a 17" Sea Ranger. It will measure 16'11".
For some reason, the post on serial numbers does not mention an "SR" in the 17' SR hull number. I don't know 🤷♂️ If that's a typo on my part or Belinda's. I hope some o with a known 17' SR will double check their hull number and let me know.
GregE, you mean the 16th 17SR in 1988 I assume

Going off of Danno's old post that describes the hull number process, mine is somehow incorrect....... AMIR9411A090 seems that the R and the 9 are in the wrong position :shrug9:

What length is your Sea Ranger?
If a 17', the hull number would be AMIR####90 if a 1990.
If a 19', the hull number would be AMI9R###90.
There's nothing golden about my rules on hull numbers. I just used what Belinda told me but that is also subject to typos. Seems like a good time to get it figured out.
Hey Danno,
It's a SR19. I understand that you were just passing along the info that you were given. It just threw me for a loop that's all. Not trying to get in a Boat measuring contest with you!! :jester:
