| Description: I measured the area I wanted to cover and the depth of the hatch inset, and found two identical gardening knee pads. I left one knee pad intake. The other I cut out to match the pattern and depth of the inset of the hatch, leaving about 1/8" clearance. I then used shelf liner and silicone adhesive to line the bottom and all sides of the cushion. This creates a snug fit in the hatch so the pad does not fly off when running. I am pretty tall, so I can still reach the floor. However, sometimes I use a single-step plastic stool to rest my feet on. When not in use, I stow the pad.
