Here's the hole that's below my main fuel tank:

This was already like this when I bought the boat.  There is a bit of fiberglass patch in the left corner.  I did this because the fiberglass was cracking there.  It's not a great-looking patch.  But, it's been holding up like this for about 3 years now.

The left side of the pic (starboard side of the boat) is the original 3/4 bilge hose opening.  This off-season, I replaced the hose and ran it up the bilge to the front of the boat.  I moved my original 500gph pump there.  I added the 1 1/8 hose on the right to a new outflow barb on the port side of the boat and installed a new 1100gph bilge pump.

Would anyone be willing to share a little Nootka halibut info?  It wont be our primary target, but secondary to salmon fishing.

Lots of good advice already, most of which mirrors how I smoke salmon. Definitely use your electric smoker. I also have a ceramic cooker (big green egg) which is my favorite grill but I wouldn't consider it for smoking fish. I use a pellet rig.

I think creating a pellicle is pretty critical. I put the fish on racks near an open window and put a fan on it.

Quote from: christianbrat on Yesterday at 08:25:04 AMI mean it already does... replace ball valve with plug and it's a match. Never been a problem for me. My habit is while cleaning the boat, after the initial cleanup, I flood the bilge, and pop the plug when I'm ready to leave.  All the soapy water sloshes around and cleans up the inside. Its dry by the time I'm home. Plus I store the boat with hatches open and plug out.

Ari gave me a tip and once a year I put a bunch of ice in the bilge, add some simple green, plug the transom, and go for a drive. It knocks the rest of the gunk out and once the ice is melted everything drains out.

How do you get the ice in the bilge in the first place?  Just by hand through the access hatch in the fish box?
yeah mines 6 inches so it's a pretty easy process

Agree, our ramps have a heavy surf surge so side guides are a must for easy p/u.  I have rollers with a short center bunk to walk on to hook the winch so don't have to get wet.  I'm lucky cause I just line up the boat in the side guides and the Captain(wife) just powers it in and I just hook the winch on and tighten it up. If solo then I just power in myself hook up then shut the motor off. 2X12X8 ft carpeted center bunk keeps the boat from hitting the cross member.

Here is a timely comment from a different web site yesterday:

QuoteHere is what a dealer told me he is selling a 2022 BF 100. I asked if using less than 91 was detrimental to anything other than performance
It doesn't like it long term. The previous owner tried to and we had to do an internal carbon clean It ran fine after that.
He then swapped to the 90 because he couldn't get 91 easily enough where he boated.

It's a 17SR 1987 that I just picked up in Seattle(Kent) last July. I think I'll opt to just enlarging the hole a little, maybe an inch or so in circumference.  Probably the best compromise.  Not so much for drainage as much as just to be able to get all the leaves and other stuff out.  Also to access the 1500gph bilge pump that I have next to the transom drain. I don't use the 22 gal. factory tank instead I have 4/6gal portables.  Two in this area and one each on either side where the batteries used to be. Allows me to rotate tanks to keep fresh gas. Thanks for the info and makes me feel better about cutting it just a little bigger.

I can't get past how clean your boat is. Do you store indoors? Products used? I thought I was obsessive about keeping my boat clean but dang, yours looks brand new!
